Full description
Experience one of Ancient Rome’s most impressive monuments from a new perspective on a virtual reality tour of the Colosseum with an English-speaking guide. Explore the legendary building via animated and interactive 3D historical reconstructions, combined with multilingual audio and heroic musical backgrounds! Meet your guide to collect your skip-the-line ticket and state-of-the-art Oculus VR (Virtual Reality) headset. Then, follow in the footsteps of the emperors, gladiators and Roman citizens who would fill the arena to watch the blood-curdling spectacles of the Roman Empire. Experience the roar of the ferocious lions and gladiators in combat as the monument is brought to life before your eyes. Access different areas of this mighty symbol of Rome, including the exterior statue to Nero and the upstairs tiers where the crowds would sit. Accompany your guide to the ground floor to complete your virtual reality expedition, and experience the mysterious (and typically unknown to tourists) underground areas to see the slaves moving silently around as they prepare to make each show a success. Using your VR glasses, travel through various corridors and see gladiators getting ready to go into battle. Get a good look at a detailed reconstruction of the hoists (normally invisible to visitors) that were used to suddenly project beasts into the arena, and much more!

I can’t recommend their tour enough. We had two small children and were not sure how interested they would be in visiting the Colosseum. The VR experience showed them exactly how the gladiators fought and how the Colosseum looked at the time. They absolutely loved it and were able to appreciate the Colosseum once they were inside. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Great guides who went above and beyond.

There were some minor technical problems with my viewer because of the heat, but the guide sorted them out quickly and the VR was absolutely amazing! It brought the whole place to life and explained the history and purpose of the Collesseum really well. I loved it and would definitely choose to do this again, when I am back in Rome one day with my adult son!

We were a little disappointed by the vr experience. The graphics were outdated and we literally stood out front of the colloseum in a small group with the goggles on. We were starting to think we weren't going on an actual tour! The information was just reading narrated paragraphs in the vr sky. After an hour we finished the vr and got separated into our proper tour groups. Our guide, Marco, was very informative, answered all questions we asked and truly had a passion for the history he was explaining.
