Alex, our tour guide picked me up on time (despite the traffic in Rio) at the hotel on Cocacabana. The three of us then drove towards the Tijuca rainforest. There I first thought of a nice walk; which turned out to be a 10km real hike within 5 hours. We're also talking about a couple of 100 meters of climbing up and down through the rainforest, which is exhausting for the average European simply because of the high temperatures and high humidity. I expressly recommend sturdy shoes, at least 2L of drinks, mosquito spray, sun spray and hiking sticks. Unfortunately I forgot the latter at home; would have been really helpful, especially on the steep descents on partly slippery surfaces. Incidentally, the organization was excellent on the part of the guide and the agency; simply provide the relevant information in the emails; complete. If you take the above things into account, you should definitely do the tour....

Despite an initial delay - due to force majeure external to the guide - our experience was fantastic. Our guide (Alex) was perfect in guiding us and telling us interesting details of the forest. The trail isn't too bumpy, and is calibrated well for a day's walk. I recommend to those who are used to walking in nature, it's worth it.

A hike with a small group made it exceptional and Enjoyable. Like an old friend taking you for a trip around a place he lives. Alex is extremely knowledgable, I have learned so many things. He is friendly and caring and ensure the pace suitable for all group members, in this beautiful forest. The waterfall at the end of the hike was reviving. I Will highly recommend Alex!!!!
