Madeira 4x4 Sunset Tour with Barbecue

1. Madeira 4x4 Sunset Tour with Barbecue

Benefit from hotel or guest house pick-up in Funchal (pick-up and drop off outside Funchal is available for an additional fee). Then, travel to the mountains of Madeira and see the Ribeira Brava valley from an altitude of approximately 1,400 meters. Journey through the countryside using old roads and tracks used for forestry and farming. Watch the colors of the sunset before a barbecue dinner at a local restaurant. Here, you will feast from a menu (bread, main course and dessert, 1 drink and coffee included) of typical dishes such as espetada - large chunks of beef rubbed in garlic and salt and grilled over an open fire, then served with local fried corn. Sample bolo do caco, the circular bread shaped like a cake that is cooked on a "caco" (a flat basalt stone slab) and served with garlic butter.

What people are saying about Ribeira Brava

This tour was way better than we ever imagined. Our tour guide Gill was fantastic; friendly, knowledgeable and a brilliant driver (which was definitely needed on some of his 'shortcut' roads!). Highly recommend this tour for anyone that loves wine and wants to see a lot of what the island has to offer.

the trip was great, the off road jeep part was a lot of fun and the wine was very tasty. I personally would have liked more information on the Madeira wine during our visit to the lodge, but aside from that it was an amazing experience

An excellent day out from start to finish. Fabulous scenery, fun off roading, great wines and a very informative fun guide. A great lunch stop overlooking the sea, amazing food.

We got a good insight into wine and Madeira wine production. Our guide Ruben was very friendly and always up for a joke. The day flew by. We recommend this varied tour.

Fabulous trip. Would highly recommend it. Friendly driver.
