Full description

Discover the major landmarks on the gorgeous island of Rhodes as you follow your expert guide on an insightful excursion. Visit Mount Filerimos with its medieval monastery, the colorful butterfly valley, and the ancient city of Kamiros, which was destroyed by an earthquake.

Ride an air-conditioned bus to your first stop, Mount Filerimos. Walk by the representation of the Stations of the Cross and admire the breathtaking panoramic view. Visit the medieval monastery built in the early 14th century and hear the amazing story of Our Lady of Filerimos.

After a short picturesque drive, arrive at the iconic butterfly valley, surrounded by dense vegetation and tall trees. Enjoy a walk down the shaded path and reach the gorgeous opening, where you'll find the marvelous Panaxia Quadripunctaria or Jersey Tiger butterfly.

Your next stop is Kamiros, an ancient Doric city founded in the 6th century. See the acropolis and temples of this tragic site that was destroyed by an earthquake in 142 AD. Continue your drive through the mountains and visit the quaint village of Embona.

Stop at a traditional mountain home to meet a family of wine producers. Taste some of their wine and local spirits, as well as honey and olive oil. Explore the village on your own and purchase lunch at a local restaurant if you're feeling hungry.

Interesting tour, very nice guide, pick-up worked great, air-conditioned bus. Here you have the chance to see a lot of Rhodes in one day for cheap money. Only the restaurant in Embonas, where you are taken towards the end and get a menu for €14, should be avoided. This was a real let down, the worst Greek food on Rhodes so far. Right next door are 2-3 other taverns, where only a local sat. It's best to eat there instead. You are free to do so. Otherwise we can recommend the tour. Interesting tour, really nice guide, the hotel transfer was super, bus is air-conditioned. You have a change to see a lot of Rhodes in one day and for a cheap price. Just the restaurant they bring you to was a total disaster. It was by far the worst food we had in Greece. You don't have to go there, so better choose one of the tavernas around, where mostly greek people were sitting. Other than that we can totally recommend it.

Very nice excursions, however the duration of the visit to the Valley of the Butterflies was a bit short (1 hour), there were a lot of tourists and we did not have time to go up to the monastery, an additional 20 minutes would be necessary. Apart from that everything that was offered was perfect.

Overall the tour was great, our guide Maria was very knowledgeable about everything regarding the island and we did not have any problems hearing or understanding her. Yanis, our driver was very adept driving us those unimaginable narrow streets of Rhodes and we felt that we were in good hands. As for money this tour was well worth it's price.
