Full description
Whales are the most mysterious of creatures, and some of the best whale watching in the world is just off the coast of Iceland’s capital, where the ocean currents create excellent viewing conditions. Climb aboard a whale watching boat operated by the only environmentally certified whale watching company in Iceland, and explore the southern part of Faxafloi Bay in the Midnight sun of the summer months. On the 3.5-hour tour you will get up-close to whales such as playful minke, as well as see abundant sea birds, dolphin and harbor porpoise. Whales are seen on more than 95% of summer tours, often surfacing within a few meters from the boats. To ensure that the animals are not disturbed, boats sail at a constant speed towards the whales' habitat. This is part of a sustainability policy, trying to minimize oil use and pollution. Guides have all gone through an extensive training program, based on exclusively developed guiding principles. They will provide valuable information about the wildlife and scenery in an entertaining way. And as a successful whale watching tour is a team effort, the crew work closely with passengers to spot the whales, helping you feel an important part of the experience.

Fun, interesting and beautiful first night in Reykjavic.

We had perfect Icelandic August weather (55F, clear skies and windy) and a relatively small group of people on the large three story boat. The optional wind proof suits did a good job of cutting the wind and keeping us comfortable. Our guide kept us all in the game of hunting for the glimpse of humpbacks and minke whales. Very knowledgable about the whales and Iceland. Bar drinks and musician on board plus absolutely beautiful views of the late setting sun and Reykjavík harbor made it a great first night on Reykjavík.

    well run operation

We had a lovely time aboard the midnight sun whale watching tour. From the fun overalls that were handed out for all of us to wear to the woman searching for sea life and finally the music as we headed back into port, this trip was wonderful. We saw multiple minke whales, porpoises, puffins, gannets and more. The boat was rocking due to high waves and some folks felt a little sick but the staff kept it all upbeat. I recommend.

Great experience, saw Minke, porpoise, puffins and live music too!

Really enjoyed our trip. Body suits great for the eve so we could stay on deck. Very informative guide, saw plenty of marine life and learnt about their lives in Iceland. Added bonus was a lovely calm sea and the midnight sun. The live singer on the way back was very entertaining and a nice surprise. Felt we got what we'd paid for, highly recommend this trip.
