  • From Reykjavik: Reykjadalur Hot Springs Small Group Hike

    2. From Reykjavik: Reykjadalur Hot Springs Small Group Hike

Enjoy a hiking experience you won't forget as you spend a day hiking in Reykjadalur (Steam Valley). Reykjadalur is a geothermal area as the name implies and a popular hiking route only about 40 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Not only will you get a lovely hiking day but you can dip into one of the warm rivers that run in the valley. You will be picked up at your hotel or nearest bus stop and driven to the valley. Then you will hike through the geothermal area and end up by the warm river where you can have a swim. This is a unique experience as you can relax there quietly with the nature surrounding you. Note that there is no dressing room or showers, only pure nature for you to enjoy.

My son and I absolutely loved our hike and hot spring visit. It was a beautiful hike, not too strenuous and our guide was very friendly and helpful. Sitting looking at the mountains while soaking in the warm water in the river was really special. It started to drizzle and the cool water on our faces felt great. Highly recommend this hike!

  • Reykjavík: Midnight Sun Whale Watching Cruise

    3. Reykjavík: Midnight Sun Whale Watching Cruise

Go whale watching under the beautiful midnight sun during Iceland's summer months of nearly 24-hour daylight. Admire the special glow of the evening sun reflecting off the waters of the North Atlantic as your English-speaking guide helps you to spot these magnificent creatures. Set sail from Reykjavík's Old Harbor at 9 PM on Rósin, a custom-built boat for whale watching tours in Iceland. Kit yourself out in included warm overalls to stay comfortable during your trip, and enjoy the boat's facilities, such as indoor and outdoor viewing decks, 2 restrooms, and a snack bar. Spend between 2-2.5 hours looking for whales with an experienced guide. The 4 most common species seen in Faxaflói Bay are humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises, and minke whales. Finally, return to the harbor just before midnight.

Unfortunately the tour could not take place (too dangerous that day). But there are still all the stars, because from the beginning super nice contact and uncomplicated communication! Thanks and maybe it will work next time.
