Full description
Head along the beautiful south shore of Iceland to the extraordinary glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón, on this full-day tour.  Pass some charming villages as well as Skaftafell National Park and visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Skógarfoss waterfall. Just before you reach the lagoon, you'll pass Iceland’s biggest volcano, Öræfajökull glacier which has the highest peak of the island, Hvannadalshnjúkur. (2110 m). After arriving at the lagoon, enjoy some time to view this stunning area. Take a walk along the shore and admire the icebergs. During the summer season, amphibian boat tours on the lagoon are available at an extra cost (payable onsite). Jökulsárlón started to form in the early nineteen twenties and is getting bigger every year. You will see many amazing blocks of ice that have broken off Europe’s biggest glacier, Vatnajökull, as they sail slowly towards the ocean which is only a kilometer away. The tour returns to Reykjavik in the evening.

Our guide Anna was fantastic; she was friendly and very knowledgeable about a range of different aspects of the tour including the volcanos, the trees, the Icelandic horses, etc. It was fabulous to see the ever changing landscape of this beautiful island. Although the tour was long there was plenty of stops that had various places to eat or grab a coffee. I’d definitely recommended this tour to anyone visiting Iceland.

Very well organized tour. Both our bus driver and the tour guide were warm and nice. In order to keep the somewhat longer journey time entertaining, we were provided with all kinds of information about Iceland during the trip. The visited waterfalls, the glacial lake and also the Diamond Beach were wonderful.

Wonderful! Good guide and generous tour stations!

Punctual, confortable and amazing. The guide of Gray Line company gave us a lot of information about Island and the places we visited. In fact, as the weather was so good we do an additional stop to see northen lifhts! What probably I do not recomed, taking note the price, is catch the boat to stay a short time on the lagoon and no useful information given. Preferably, see seals on the side.
