Full description

Explore the dramatic landscapes of the south of Iceland on a full-day sightseeing tour. Go to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon outlet of the largest glacier in Europe.

Following a pick-up from your hotel in Reykjavik, transfer to the southern coast and the dramatic Glacier Lagoon. Enjoy plenty of time to see the floating icebergs and enjoy the stunning scenery.

During the season, make sure to reserve your ticket to the boat cruise on the Jökulsárlón and experience the unique Glacier Lagoon spectacle up close. When you prebook, your place is guaranteed.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is Iceland’s largest and deepest glacier lagoon. It branches from Breidamerkurjokull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier.

Return to Reykjavik, stopping at the gorgeous waterfall Seljalandsfoss. You will visit the Diamond beach with black sand, and there will be an additional stop in Iceland's southernmost village at Vík for dinner.

You do spend more time on bus than on the sites. I am giving a 5-star rating becus if youre coming from a city like me (NYC), its not everyday that you can experience such landscapes. We were picked up at 7:20AM & dropped off around 9:30PM. We arrived to the lagoon around 1PM after only 2 stops on the way. The 1st stop was 15min & 2nd was 45min. With a departure of 7AM to an arrival time of 1PM, this is what made the ride incredibly long & tiring. However, the scenery you drive through is amazing: lava fields, mountains, glaciers, farmland & more- you won’t be disappointed! We were very lucky to have clear skies w/sunshine all day. The day before I actually drove through same route to take Katla Cave tour & we had rain/foggy skies. So while I repeated the same drive, I was grateful to enjoy the scenery this time. I wish we had more time when stopping at the sites. While I did take great pics, I feel like I didn’t have the opportunity to observe & take it all in. Each stop felt rushed.

This tour packs a huge amount into a long day— from the glacier lagoon to seals to diamonds on the beach ( tiny glacier bits washed up from the seas) you will see and experience extraordinary scenery. Our guide Rock shared anecdotes, history and funny anecdotes that brought the countryside into focus. The boat ride in the lagoon to see icebergs was stunning.
