Full description

Spend the day exploring the dramatic landscapes of the south of Iceland along with its coastline on a full-day sightseeing tour from Reykjavik.

Following a pickup from listed hotels or guesthouses in central Reykjavík, travel to the gorgeous waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Along the way, pass a variety of rivers, waterfalls, mountains, and glaciers.

At the waterfall at Seljalandsfoss, walk behind the cascades and feel the spray on your face. Continue to Skógafoss to marvel at the 60-meter drop. Pass the black sand beaches of the southern coast and enjoy the power of the sea.

Visit the glacier snout of Sólheimajökull to see an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull. Admire the ever-changing feat of nature up-close. Then, look at the basalt sea stacks in the town of Vik, Iceland’s southernmost village just south of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, before returning to Reykjavik.

Our tour provider was BusTravel Iceland, prior to our trip we were sent plenty of information regarding the coach that would pick us up. The start of the tour was a bit disorganised, we were picked up from bus stop 10 as described, but then made to swap coaches for the tour we had actually booked. But we fully enjoyed the rest of the trip, the locations we visited were amazing! The glacier walk was probably the highlight of our week in Iceland! Would definitely recommend this trip just to see the glacier alone! Only other complaint is that our guide didn’t give us much time at each stop, especially the waterfalls, we would of loved just a bit more time to fully explore each location.

Despite the weather we had a fabulous day . Our Guide Daniel was excellent from start to finish . He was very knowledgeable and explained all about the wonderful waterfalls , glacier and the black beach . He was also funny and definitely had (what we say in Ireland ) the gift of the gab . Which means he is a great talker . Despite the rain we saw everything on the trip and thoroughly enjoyed our day and learned a lot about Ireland . Huge thanks to the bus driver too . I would definitely recommend this trip .

The tour itself was really good, even in rainy weather! We have decided for ourselves, however, to pay more attention to book a tour in a small group rather than in a big bus !!! The black beach, the waterfalls and especially the glacier were very impressive. The only downside was our guide Anna. She talked incessantly, without a break, the entire trip! Very, very exhausting and way too much useless information! But as I said, the tour was great, with a different guide it was definitely even better!
