    Your full-day tour begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Quito. From there, you'll be driven south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes, passing through the towns of Latacunga and Pujilí. The first stop will be at a local house of the indigenous Paramos people.     Quilotoa Volcano is a small 3 km wide caldera about 80 km southwest of Quito. It is in the westernmost of Ecuador's Andean volcanoes. The caldera is the truncated remnant of a dacitic stratovolcano. It has steep inner walls which rise 400 m above the surface of a 240 m deep lake.  It is a 3-hour drive from your hotel to the lake. On route, you will have the opportunity to take photos of volcanoes along the way. If the tour is on a Thursday, you will stop at the Saquisili market to see their local produce. On arrival at Quilotoa Volcano, you will take a 30-minute walk to the lake. The return trip will take approximately 1 hour so it is recommended to rent a horse. There are some restaurants where you can try typical Ecuadorian food. Return to Quito and if you like, you can bike down a steep road, which is a really good experience.
