2. Punta Cana: Caribbean Dune Buggy and Party Boat Combo Tour

Start your tour nice and early, ready for a day jam-packed full of adventure. From the ranch in Macao, you will go tearing through the remote farmland of northern Punta Cana, passing palm trees and tobacco plantations with the Oriental Mountain Range deep in the background. Punta Cana: Sunset Buggy Tour With Cave Swim and Dance Show

3. Punta Cana: Sunset Buggy Tour With Cave Swim and Dance Show

This experience has adventure stamped all over it. Off-road buggy or safari truck rides, traditional Taino ceremonies, and swimming in underground pools make for an adrenaline-pumping evening from Punta Cana. Juan, one of our local guides, says ‘Caves and cenotes played an important role in the indigenous Taino culture. Despite looking so tempting with their cool aquamarine water, the Taino people never swam in the cenotes or used the water because of their belief that they were a gateway to the underworld.' Plus, you'll enjoy a Dominican dinner and an open bar followed by live music and dancing around a bonfire. To kick off your all-action evening, you'll power through the Dominican countryside, zoom along dirt tracks and watch as the landscape transforms from day to night. Guided by torchlight, you'll continue your journey to take a swim in a natural cave pool, known as a cenote, with atmospheric lighting. And if you choose the safari truck option, you'll also get to visit the eerie depths of Yara Cave. With flaming torches lighting the way, you'll make your way back to the base for a well-earned drink and a tasty dinner of local cuisine. The restaurant staff prides themselves on creating classic Dominican dishes, freshly prepared with seasonal produce from the island. Rounding off the evening is a traditional Taino dance show and the chance to join in with a boogie around the bonfire or enjoy the open bar under the stars.

From Punta Cana: Anamuya Mountains Sunset Horseback Riding

5. From Punta Cana: Anamuya Mountains Sunset Horseback Riding

Sunset in the Dominican Republic doesn't come more atmospheric than this – sitting astride your horse, gazing out over the leafy tropical terrain from the top of a mountain. This evening ride comes with a dinner of local favourites down at the ranch and a few fun surprises thrown in, too. Juan, one of our local guides, says, ‘Everyone Dominican's grandmother has her own recipes for local specialities like sancocho, a meat-and-vegetable stew. One version for special occasions has seven different types of meat, plus herbs and spices. It's supposed to be a good hangover cure.' A briefing and welcome drink will get you into the spirit of the evening before you saddle up and set off on a leisurely sunset tour on horseback. Enjoy the scenery as you weave through remote farmland and lush green rainforest. It's a great way to get back to nature, and you'll be rewarded with sweeping vistas of the landscape as you head up into the mountains. At the top, there's time for photos, making the most of the low evening light as the sun sinks towards the horizon. After riding back down to the ranch for dinner, you'll try some local dishes like Juan's favourite sancocho stew, crisp plantain ‘tostones', yuca and burgers. Plus, you'll get to watch a cigar-rolling demonstration if it takes your fancy. Then, after dinner, you could chill out on one of the rocking chairs with a brandy or have more fun with a lasso-throwing lesson.

What people are saying about Punta Cana

Collection worked great, attention! Pickup time in the app does not match the actual pickup time. One day in advance we received information via Whatsapp that we would be picked up at 1:45 p.m. instead of 3:00 p.m. Otherwise everything was great, the atmosphere was great and there was also a little surprise for the "birthday children". At the beginning of the trip companions get on the boat who offer pictures with parrots, but you are not forced to take pictures and it didn't bother you. You have to pay something for pictures from the photographer

The best activity I've done especially the staff they are super friendly and it's really worth it. I booked 3 hours in advance but everything was fine. Thank you for your kindness and I will do it one more time before I leave. I highly recommend ♥️♥️

It was awesome, just wished they could come pick me up directly in front of my hotel , I had to walk way to the front by the security gate . Other then that , I had a great time !

Super fun tour, saw beautiful nature during the buggy tour and then concluded with a great party on the boat. Highly recommended! PS: bring a drink with you to the buggy tour!

Very nice excursion on the beach for 2 hours. Even with a gallop
