Full description
Explore the capital of the Dominican Republic on a full-day sightseeing tour by comfortable air-conditioned bus. An expert guide will lead you around the First City of the Americas, describing the historical facts behind the modern-day metropolis.   Encounter the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, the first institution of higher learning in America, and the oldest colonial building in the New World. Visit the Palace of Fine Arts, and the somber National Palace. Get off the bus to take photographs of the presidential palace, and pause for lunch at a typical restaurant. Continue to Columbus Park. Drive through a colonial neighborhood, and pay homage to the first cathedral of the Americas, birthplace of a fervent Catholic faith. Stroll down Las Damas Street, the oldest lane not only in the Dominican Republic, but in America. The Museo de la Casas Reales, formerly the Governmental Palace, has a lovely display of colonial-era artifacts, which you'll get to see. A walk across the Alcázar de Colón enraptures visitors back to the era of the first Spanish conquistadors, which you'll get to do on your wonderfully immersive day in Santo Domingo.

Excellent Tour. Great guide, gets to see the highligts of Santo Domingo. However when I book a Tour that specifies " no time for shopping" I do not expect to be guided to a souvenir shop for a 30 min. break.......I chose this tour because it promised " no shopping", and if you absolutely have to make a stop for shopping, please choose somewhere else than a ordinary souvenirshop. Despite this i did find it full valid for my money.

The objectives mentioned not touched. just a short scroll on streets în colonial zone. Visited inside just Catedral Primada. Not visited at all Museo Casa Reales, or Tres Ojos, as mentioned în programme. Instead, very loooong time to shopping spots. If you realy are interested in history and to visit colonial places, find another solution

Poor trip

This was really a disappointing trip. Drove 226 km in a buss, saw just a little bit of the town, went 5 min. to see a 3D movie, 1 cathedral which was a disappointment then the guide brought us to several shops (did not buy anything of that crap) after that we got lunch which was horrible and finally the buss drove us 226 KM back to the hotel. 11 hours of waste and waste of money. But the guide was very good and informativ, but the headset did not work proper, so most of the time I could not hear anything when we where walking in the town. It was also to hot to walk around. This is not a trip I can recommend.
