Our whole family loved this wonderful meeting with the lovely small monkeys. The excursion was very good, our children still talk about the sweet monkeys...It was obvious that the people working with them cared for them, we had good instructions about being calm and respectful to them. The monkeys lived in a beautiful environment and seemed to be able to live an almost wild life, I appreciated that. Apart from the visit to the monkeys we had another visit where we learned about chocolate, coffee and sugar amd had some nice tasting opportunities. Our guide Manuel was also great and we felt safe in the traffic by driver Andres. Thanks for a wonderful day!!
Very reputable and dependable. All activities and execution were as described - from pickup to actual activities and delivery back to hotel. Guide (Santiago) was outstanding. Very personable and delivered great narrative and insight into local culture and practices. The additional activities of coffee and cocoa plantation and tasting of coffee, cocoa, and coconuts were well worth the time and a great addition.
Angel and Yuma are a great team for this excellent excursion through the Dominican country and beach-side. Angel explains the details of daily life, sugar caning, cocoa/coffee making (tasting included), rum making (more samples), and speaks of traditions, family life, animals, foods, everything. A typical Dominican lunch is included and the day ends with boogie-boarding and/or sunning on Macao Beach. Awesome!
Once the actual safari started, after a late pickup and sitting at a gas station for too long waiting on another truck, it was good. Samuel was a great tour guide and very informative. I wish that the initial driver was more forthcoming with why we were sitting at a gas station which made me nervous. We had to ask what was going on before we got any information.
It was so much more than seeing monkeys, we went to different stations and learned about cocoa bean product, vanilla production, coconut, sugar, coffee. We were able to try many products it was very interesting and fun! Our guide Christine was amazing!
