  • Interact with and feed the squirrel monkeys of the Dominican Republic
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the Eastern mountains and local villages
  • See a typical island home and learn about the coffee and cacao production
  • Taste fresh and organic fruits and coffee
Full description

Visit the coconut house or “Casa del Coco” to learn how coconut oil is produced and taste exotic Caribbean fruits, roasted coffee, and cacao. Interact in close proximity with friendly squirrel monkeys for the next 45 minutes. These charming and intelligent monkeys have been trained by a Canadian couple with over 35 years of experience working with animals, including 12 years at the Toronto Zoo teaching monkeys how to interact with humans. The tour is based on 5 acres of beautiful land that monkeys have made their home. They will descend from the trees to sit on your shoulder and eat from your hands. They also love to pose for the cameras, especially for selfies.

Very friendly pick up and guide from Gary and Mr Cruse. Park is nice - monkeys are great. But the plantation trip is a joke where you just walk a hundred meter still on the same estate and take part in a sales show. Still 4 of 5 stars because of friendliness and uniqueness of our little hairy friends.

It was a great experience! So many great pictures were taken by us on our own phones, plus their professional pics were only $40 for all (for 2 people) so got those too. Personally I could have done without the “cultural tour” part, but understand they wanted to add something to it since it takes a bit to get there.

OMG!!! This was so much fun! Before seeing the monkeys, we learned about mama Juana, making cacao and coffee!! They grow and harvest it all there!! The monkeys though are so friggin adorable!! They are a bit much for those that don’t like things jumping on them. I thought it was hilarious though. Our transport driver and hosts Jesus and Brian were amazing. They even stopped on the way back to give us all mangos from a local stand. I got a fresh coconut!! Totally do it if you have time. FYI, it’s a long excursion for little kids. Bigger ones can handle the walking. There’s a bit of walking in between levels.
