Covid-19 Update

Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Begin the tour with a visit to the coconut house or “Casa del Coco” to learn how coconut oil is produced and to taste fresh organic products. There you will have the opportunity to try exotic Caribbean fruits, roasted coffee and cacao. The next 45 minutes are spent in a guided tour where you will interact in close proximity with beautiful and friendly squirrel monkeys. These charming and intelligent monkeys have been trained by a Canadian couple with more than 35 years of experience working with animals, including 12 years at the Toronto Zoo teaching monkeys to trust and enjoy the company of humans. The tour is based on 5 acres of a beautiful piece of land that monkeys have made their home. The monkeys are completely accustomed to human contact – they come down from the trees to sit on your shoulder and eat from your hands. They also love to pose for the cameras, especially for selfies!

We really liked that you could choose between morning and afternoon. We have never had such close contact with small monkeys before. Attention was also paid to the health of the monkeys, so that uncontrolled feeding was avoided. On the way there you saw something of the country because of the open trucks. We also liked that something was said about coffee, cocoa, vanilla and coconut. You could buy something, but you didn't have to. I've seen it differently with other providers. The guide tried to give all participants the information they wanted in several languages.

This was our first excursion during the stay and we just loved it! The guides are very very careful about the treatment of the little monkeys, which is reassuring unlike other activities that exploit animals without scruple. We also discovered the manufacture and tasted local products (chocolate, coffee, cinnamon ...). It was really a great outing that left us with great memories. Only downside: transport in a very uncomfortable safari truck with little security.

nice guidance

the trip to Monkeyland was great. We also saw the hinterland. It was great with the monkeys. You can see that the animals are doing well there and they are being kept well. They keep jumping on you. So cute. We were given food 3 times so that they kept coming back. Afterwards we were able to buy photos that became very professional. After a tour of the coffee plantation, there was coffee, chocolate or mamajuana. We were brought back with open buses. It was a nice, varied excursion. He was fun for all of us.
