Punta Cana: Whale Whatching Sanctuary Experience

3. Punta Cana: Whale Whatching Sanctuary Experience

After having been collected from your accommodation, you will begin your day out on the water to watch whales in their natural sanctuary.  You will visit a beautiful natural area aboard a certified boat out in the privileged waters of Samaná and Miches Bay. The whale watching sanctuary in Samana Bay is the winter home of a sea giant, an acrobat of the sea: the humpback whale. From January to March, these waters are their stage and refuge as they come here to give birth to their young or to find a partner to perpetuate their species through further generations. Expert guides will take you to enjoy this natural wonder aboard boats that are specially designed for this activity. As you observe these enormous and majestic beings (which can reach 53 feet in length and 40 tons in weight), you will learn more about their biology, ecology and behavior.

From Punta Cana: Full-Day Whale Watching

4. From Punta Cana: Full-Day Whale Watching

This tour is only available from the period between January 20 until March 30 each year. Until recently, it was believed that only 85% of the Atlantic humpback whales were born in Dominican waters and returned annually for mating and breeding. But a recent study revealed that all North Atlantic populations come to breed in these waters. On-board a specialized boat, you will enjoy the following: impressive mating acrobatics, romantic male chants and jumps of the consorts. Samaná is considered one of the best places in the world for the sighting of humpback whales. Join this whale watching excursion with a visit to the beautiful beach of Cayo Island (Bacardi Island) and enjoy an exotic excursion (if option selected).

We are absolutely thrilled. We travel a lot and this was by far the best and most beautiful tour we have ever done. The tour is worth every penny. The guides (we had Christian) an absolute dream. You feel very well cared for right from the start. The entire team makes sure that everything fits and responds very individually to the wishes of the guests. We had never experienced such hospitality. The whole thing is accompanied by a photographer (we had Manuel) - also amazing. You can decide afterwards whether you want the photos or not. Honestly, we paid about $40 for all photos (120 pieces). That's more than fair - we also gave more because Manuel tried very hard and conjured up really great photos! The individual locations that are approached are amazing! You can collect such great impressions. We can only recommend - do the tour!

Picked up on time. It's all wonderfully organised. The guys on the trimaran were in a great mood. No stress, as seen with other providers, but totally easy and absolutely safe at all times! Even when a guest's mobile fell into the water, a guide from another boat even helped with the search (and even found it). The nachos with the freshly made guacamole were great. Thank you for a great experience with a great tour.

we loved the excursion, everything was very well organized. transfer from our hotel to the catamaran. Thanks to Christian our guide for the day. there were also photographers on site, they took wonderful photos. the bar and the buffet is very good. Saona Island is just sublime I highly recommend taking a tour. Plan the full day from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It was awesome, just wished they could come pick me up directly in front of my hotel , I had to walk way to the front by the security gate . Other then that , I had a great time !

A very nice trip! Everything super organized! 50% cheaper than in the hotel, that's why we decided! I highly recommend and greet "Daddy" our guide ☺️
