Full description
Experience the beauty of marine life in Puerto Princesa. Honda Bay is located on the eastern shore of Puerto Princesa and hosts a variety of tiny islands with resorts and beaches. It is also home to a wide variety of fishes, corals, and giant clams. Begin your 30-minute journey from the city to Barangay Sta. Lourdes, where the Honda Bay Wharf is located. Before boarding your boat, you will make a stop to rent your snorkel, aqua shoes, and swimming fins. Once on board, you will be taken to 3 different places each with its own unique attractions and characteristics. First is Luli Island. This sand bar got its name from the Filipino 'Lulubog at LIlitaw', which means to appear and disappear on water. The sand bar disappears when the tide is high and appears when the tide is low. It has powdery cream-colored sand and clear blue water, which is perfect for swimming and relaxing. There is a cocktail bar where you can sample the local mixes. There is a dive platform where you can take a jump into the water.  Next is Pambato Reef. This reef is a famous snorkeling site in Honda Bay. It has an average depth of 13 meters and covers an area as wide as 16 hectares. It has a thriving community of branch and ear corals and schools of fish including lapu-lapu (grouper), parrot fish, and spadefish. Finally, head to Cowrie Island where you will spend most of your day. Your buffet-style lunch will be served on this island. The clear blue waters and powdery sand are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sun bathing. There is a massage center where you can treat yourself to a relaxing massage. Your day will end at approximately 2:30 PM. You will head back to the wharf and your driver will meet you there to return you to your accommodation. If you want a relaxing end to the day, select one of the massage options. Hotel drop-off after the massage can be provided with an extra charge, which can be booked as an add-on upon checkout.

This was a very nice island, hopping tour that allowed you to see three small islands close to Puerto Princesa. Each island allowed for snorkeling I will say the last island is the best and I wish there was an option just to go to Cowrie and spend the full amount of time there instead of having to go to the other two islands. All had Clearwater and were able to see fishes when snorkeling. My husband brought his own snorkel set, but I was able to rent a snorkel and water shoes with no issue. the boat ride to the very first island at the reef was pretty far, but coming back seem much quicker. For the price it was a nice little day. Being the first pick up in the last drop off is kind of unfortunate, mainly because we had a lot of people to drop off in between which took up a lot of time in the van.

Nice excursion with departure around 7:30 am, boat trip and stop at 3 different places where you can snorkel (we don't see crazy things either) and swim. We stay about 1 hour on each island and a little more on the last for dinner. The view is pretty overall but nothing exceptional either. Hearty and delicious dinner. Guide attentive and very friendly.

One of the best trips I've had locally. Our guide, kuya Echo is very nice. A great photographer, very cool, and informative. He'd give you tips even for the ones outside the trip itself. Everything was a smooth ride for us. First we went to Pambato Reef - we were the first ones there so we enjoyed swimming with the fishes. Best experience ever! Then we went to Luli Island; where we had a mini photoshoot, there weren't much people there so that's good. TIP: If you want great solo photos, walk a few steps from the actual spot where the others are taking pictures. Third is the Cowrie Island. We had so much fun here! There was a banana boat ride and the lunch was delicious! You'd go back for more. If you want a massage, they have one in the middle. There's fresh buko also. It's quite pricey tho = P 50. And the damn thing was heavy. The place is really clean. Only comment is that the waters of the shower is salt water so the soap doesn't bubble. Overall, wonderful experience!
