Organization in advance great. Notification from the local provider worked perfectly. Long drive from Cabarete. By the time everyone was collected and the way there, it was 3.5 hours. The bus only came at 7 instead of 6.30 a.m. Very bad ways to Punta Rucia. The speedboat ride through the mangrove forest and to the sandbar was great. The reef is very nice and we had 2.5 hours to snorkel. The stop at the cigar factory (hall where you can buy all sorts of stuff) should not have been. Feeling of a sales trip. Otherwise it was really worth it. Our guide was nice and could also speak German and English. Lunch was relaxed and delicious too. Apparently we had caught a time when there were relatively few tourists.

The journey was quite long (from Cabarete with the pick-up of all fellow travelers about 4 hours) and the first stop was clearly too long (at the washrooms). The beach from which the speedboat starts was incredibly beautiful, really turquoise water. The speedboat ride was super cool. And Paradise Island very small but beautiful. The snorkeling there was beautiful and a real experience. The mangroves were nice but not too spectacular, the food was delicious (buffet) and the cigar factory was also interesting.

    Amazing barrier reef!

The tour is great, the guide is knowledgeable and the trip very well organized! The boat ride to the island was a lot of fun with the driver doing tricks and making us enjoy the waves :) paradise island is awesome, the fish and reef are worth all the money! Their “waterman” swim with you over the reef and are very well trained and prepared to help you with waves and equipments. Mangroves really interesting to see, even if the excursion goes quite quickly there, but definitely a nice way to end the tour before heading back to the beach. Highly recommended tour :)
