What people are saying about Puerto Maldonado

Fantastic place. We saw over 150 different species of birds, animals and insects in the 4 days. Many of them from the terrace around the area just around the hotel where we, among other things. saw toucans, monkeys, parrots, giant squirrels and a lot of beautiful little birds. And we also reached zipline, canopy-walking, meeting a local tribe and fishing pirate fish (a super nice place). The staff is super sweet and the guides are good at spotting and very knowledgeable about the animals and the area. Transport and the like worked like clockwork. On the downside, there is a lot of noise at night, partly because it is jungle but also because the roof flutters in the wind and there is only a net to take the sound at the top of the room from the other guests. It could be cool with larger selection of snacks / drinks at the bar.

This was an incredible experience from start to finish. All the staff were friendly, knowledgable and passionate about what they do. It was an unforgettable trip with so many activities planned. The accommodation felt like you were really experiencing the jungle and you could hear the animals come to life at night. Highly recommend the tour!!

Wonderful lodge, excellent guides, food was great. It's fairly basic but the tours were outstanding, we were usually out for much longer than any of the other tour companies so we got to see more. Of course there are bugs etc but super value for money and we were very sad to leave.

A great experience: a lodge on a human scale, a small competent team, everything was perfect. Muchas gracias Aldair, Charly y Ares.

Perfect! The best guide from company Tambopatawildlife!
