What people are saying about Province of Messina

Roberto picked us up in town & drove us to winery "base camp." We were eight. From there he drove to the ski area base at the mountain, where our two-hour hike started. We went up and around a few lateral craters, so nothing active, and had great views of the top. From there we drove to walk inside a small lava tube, with helmets & headlamps. Then it was lunch & wine at the restaurant. We tasted two reds with a large plate of typical Sicilian appetizers, and then a sweet wine with cookies. Finally we drove to the Gorge. There's stairs down to a small beach. The river was low (ankle/knee high) and VERY cold when we were there in late September. The lava formations are cool from the beach, but bring water shoes to walk around the bend to see the truly amazing ones!

The whole experience was great! The guide Tony is extremely educated, erudite and polite. He explained everything very interestingly, answered all question very willingly and made the atmosphere very enjoyable. The visit of Etna was very good with a lot of details, facts and stories. The wine yard visit is not really a visit as you simply eat there but no one explains to you anything nor guides you through the yards. Nevertheless I really recommend it to anyone who’s interested in a guided tour where you can learn a lot.

Alberto our tour guide is very passionate about Etna and gave us some interesting info we never knew about. Lunch was simply mouthwatering and loved the tour around the winery. Everything was outstanding and highly recommend it to anyone.

The guide Roberto was amazing, with incredible knowledge and good sense of humor. He picked us up from the hotel parking lot and left us at the same spot. During hiking guide told us many things about etna.

We enjoied very much. Nice cruise and frendly staff
