The wine is aged for a year in open oak barrels, as it is one of the few wines that improve from contact with the air. A noble and old sherry can educate younger ones and the older wines are stored in aged barrels and constantly replenished to maintain their quality. In 2014, González Byass was awarded the "Best Visitor Centre" in the Drinks International Wine Tourism Awards. .
