Met at the entrance to the ballroom, escorted to our seats and presented with a glass of fizzy. The ballroom of the Grand Hotel Bohemia is breathtaking. The program is in three parts each followed by a starter, main course and dessert. It is performed the Amadeus Prague Ensemble, comprising two opera singers, a baritone and a soprano and five instrumentalists dressed in period costume.

The atmosphere was nice. The performance was excellent. The meal was just ok. At the end they wanted us to pay for the water ( it wasn’t a bottle, it was only tap water) even though we knew that drinks were extra but couldn’t imagine why we had to pay for tap water and the behavior of the waiter was not so nice.

This was an amazing evening- the ballroom was so ornate, the food excellent, the musicians and singers so very talented too. A really high class evening. We sat on a table with 2 other couples that we had never met before but the conversation flowed and it all added to the evening.
