Full description
Off-the-beaten-track tour through local, cozy and picturesque out-of-centre neighborhoods which have remained undiscovered by crowds pf tourists so far. Learn about local culture, see nice parks and buildings. Within this experience Prague's neighborhoods of Žižkov, Vinohrady and Nusle are covered with their "olde" buildings (both representative villas and neglected former labourers' houses), picturesque parks and some breathtaking panaromatic views. Žižkov used to be a labourer's quarter and that atmosphere can be sensed there till present days. Lots of graffitti included, old buildings and generally spirit of old times. Also the ugliest building in the world (TV tower) will be seen from close within this tour. Josip Plecnik's 1928-1932 church with the biggest Czech clock. Some nice parks will be visited where locals spend their free time (with zero presence of tourists) and as some of them are situated on hills they provide a nice view on these non-touristy Prague's neighborhoods. Some local taverns can be found (and visited ;-) en route plus an entrance to a nucelar shelter will be passed by and thus the travelers will learn something about the cold war era. Vinohrady with their luxurious 1920's and 1930's villas and the magnificent 7 floors high Water-tower dating back to 1800's. Some more parks and vineyards on the way, unique photographing opportunities, more graffitti and olde buildings of Nusle area as the route will be made along Botic stream. A stunning St. Charles curch on Karlov with its lovely and romantic surroundings, rarely visited by people and not by crowds of tourists at all. Hidden gems and gardens and enjoying stunning view on and from the remnants of Prague's original 1300's fortification wall. The Orthodox church of St. Virgin Mary will be passed around as the route leads to the most beautiful Prague's embankment with the oldest railway bridge dating back to 1800's. While lazily strolling along the river and taking pictures, swans and ducks can be fed. We understand you have things to say so you will be given such an opportunity at "Prague's Hyde Park" on Palacky Square (Palackého Náměstí). Then a unique Emauzy monastery will be reached and followingly the tour ends at the mysterious Faustus house on the largest Prague's square (Karlovo náměstí) where tram stops and metro (subway) station can be found.
