An enjoyable way to spend an afternoon if you are in Porto. The 3 different port wine houses gave a good variety of different tastes and styles of port wine. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a trip down to see some of the barrels and casks during one of the stops. There was a tour guide who accompanied us and was able to answer all of our questions. This tour is a great way to find out what sort of port wines are for you.

I loved this tour for the value!!! We went to porto cruz.....and had the whole process fully explained with a tasting of 4 ports. The second place however is off the beaten track and just amazing .....small business but the best ports. And then Churchill...young but tasty and a tour of a full operating cellar....and I met Mr Tom Graham- previous owner of Grahams but now owns Churchill. The tour guide and everyone she introduced us to made such a kind effort to greet us and be incredibly hospitable and friendly. So worth the value too......amazing ports amd great variety....no 2 tasted the same.

Eventough explanations concerning the differnt port wine types have been repeat multiple times, which has eventually been a good way to keep the information in mind, we've tasted the four types from different producers. This gave me a better understanding of the differnt wine specifications. Tip: I recommend to keep a litte bit spare place in your luggage ... for buying one of those tasty ports :-)
