Full description
Begin your day with a convenient pick-up from your hotel followed by a 1.5-hour drive to the start of this great trail. Your personal guide will give you great insights about life in Portugal and ways and traditions of making the way to the Paiva Walkway go by in a flash. The hike along the river will be filled with geologic, natural and archeological interest located in the most beautiful locations.  After this 3-hour hike, a great lunch will be required and there is nowhere better to have a great lunch than in this region. Taste the best meat in Portugal at Alvarenga, famous for its 'posta arouquesa,' a delightful piece of grilled beef that will make you regain all your stamina. The drivers were punctual and courteous. Nice midway coffee break.! The walkway and bridge spectacular. The lunch was out of this world regarding flavors and quantity. The restaurant served a feast representative of typical cousine. - appreciated after a few hours of walking. Maybe this could be done for less money, if you had your own transportation. But the convenience and hospitality - worth it..5 stars

The hike and the meal were both fantastic! We loved it and had a beautiful day, despite a little bit of rain. The meal was pretty amazing, and we thought the trip was a great value and a wonderful way to spend a day. Be aware, you probably will not be able to go on the extension bridge on this trip, because you have to buy separate tickets for that in advance for a particular time, and you can't guarantee you'll be able to arrive at the bridge at an exact time. Also, we had a 77-year-old in our group and she found the hike pretty challenging but made it through.
