Full description
After being picked up from your hotel in the morning, you will travel in an air-conditioned minivan towards Sabrosa, the wonderful wine region, where you will stop for a quick coffee before venturing into the mountains. After arriving to the first family owned vineyard, it will be time to have the first wine experience. This small-size producer will engage you in a guided tour of it's facilities and a taste of their port and DOC wines, all of excellent and recognized quality.  Proceeding on your journey, prepare to have a delicious lunch at the second vineyard where you can try the local specialties accompanied with their own wine. This setting will also allow you to contemplate the majestic landscapes formed around you. After lunch, it's time to visit their facilities and taste their ports. The tour will then stop by a corporate brand vineyard, visiting their beautiful facilities and enjoying their wonderful Ports and beautiful views.  You will then drive alongside the river, where recently the National Highway 222 was considered the best road in the world for those who enjoy driving, offering breathtaking views. After a whole day strolling through the winding roads of the Douro Valley, relax on the trip back to your hotel to which you'll arrive to in the early evening.

The tour was excellent. The guide, Andre, was knowledgeable, funny, and pointed out points of interest. His English was good as we were all Americans. All the vineyards, we welcoming and provided the group with information as well as the tasting. The country side was magnificent, very hilly with winding country roads. Certainly worth taking the tour.

The guide was friendly except that he didn't speak French so we were in a charming but English-speaking GROUP. So not great for dialogue! However, we were warned by email of this problem there the day before. Regarding the content, the first visit to croft (the most famous) the estate is superb and the business visit, another area with average meals not worthy of Portugal! But visit this nice one! The last visit was really great at the Castelares area. Return from the Douro in the evening around 6 p.m. The excursion was generally good Small downside on the not generous meal and what about the desert a chocolate cake of 2cm × 2cm .. Ridiculous But to do

Douro valley trip was the highlight of Porto experience, because we wouldn’t have made it ourselves. It’s beautiful windy roads and it’s about 1.5 hours from Porto. This company also picks you up from Sheraton Porto hotel so my husband didn’t have to drive. It was little tight having total 9 people including the driver but worked out okay. The company web said it was going to be max 4 people, but things changed and they didn’t inform us. Despite it was a good experience especially with an awsome guide, Marcio. He was very personable and made sure all of our needs were met. I highly recommend it.
