The project "Fado by Casa da Guitarra" intends to offer to you the essence of this musical genre in an evening of enchantment and wonder. During the hour-long concert, you will come in contact with very unique Portuguese cultural elements - Fado, Portuguese traditional stringed instruments, and Port wine - all of which are deeply related to Portuguese history. The fado performance takes place in an intimate setting with usually one or two singers, accompanied by a Portuguese guitar player and guitar players (playing a viola de fado). A traditional port wine will be served during the interlude to round out your evening and an illustrated postcard will be offered, containing some explanation about the essence of Fado. It is advisable to arrive 10 minutes early.

Immerse yourself in an unforgettable sensorial experience at Fonseca Port Wine Cellars. Begin your experience at 7pm, with a guided tour of the Cellars and tasting session. Here, you will discover about the 200-year-old history of Fonseca, and you will learn about the production process of Port Wine, from its origin in the Douro Valley to its aging in the cellars. This visit will end with a special tasting of the Siroco, an iconic dry white Port wine from Fonseca. The activity is followed by a special and intimate dinner, amidst the casks and vats, where the mythical Fonseca Port wines age. The dinner includes three traditional Portuguese dishes, prepared by some of Porto’s most talented chefs, and is accompanied by the sound of one of the greatest symbols of Portuguese culture - Fado.
