First of all the zodiac boat, I was expecting was not the boat we boarded. I was picturing an eight passenger sit on the side wall type zodiac however, the zodiac we took our tour in had 14 or 15 high back seats that were very comfortable and if you felt very safe the entire time. The seas were very rough due to low tide and the time of year so we were able to get close to the different caves, but not able to go in. The captain tried very hard to get us into the last biggest cave, but decided on the side of caution and keeping us safe. Pedro was the English speaking tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the coastline and the history. He also gave excellent recommendations for lunch after the tour and dessert. We decided to eat, then walk the boardwalk on top of the Cliffs to get a different perspective. I highly recommend doing that if you have time.

Well, for those who can ‘stomach’ the bumpy ride on the Atlantic Ocean, the speedboat adventure is sure to thrill and delight. I, however, missed the highlights starting from the ‘Paradise’ cave as I was bent over, throwing up my guts in a plastic bag provided kindly by our guide. Woohooo!

This trip was the highlight of our trip 🤩 The team is the sweetest and friendliest people we’ve met throughout our Portugal trip. Rafa was an amazing amazing tour guide. The captain and everyone is else also made sure we were comfortable and shared very useful information throughout the tour. Rafa kept the energy high and made sure everyone was buoyed every bit of the tour. If you’re in the area and looking to visit Benagil, look no further.
