We started the day with a history lesson of the passing areas on our way into cairns. So very knowledgeable! The sky rail was very interesting and for 40Aud each well worth it to get to Kuranda. The scenic railway from Kuranda back down the mountains is absolutely spectacular with some amazing views. The town of Kuranda itself has been some what effected from COVID but no doubt it will bounce back. Recommend having a quick look at the butterfly sanctuary while your there too!
Very pleasant day both on the train and in Kuranda Village. I was confused about not having a ticket for the sky gondola as the title suggested, which is extra. I also felt rushed and could have spent more time exploring the rain forest walk.
Everything was awesome. Our guide Joe was very knowledgeable.
Highly recommend this tour. So much to see and you can relax and enjoy it whilst the tour guide does everything for you. Wouldn’t get all the information if you drove on your own. Loved every minute.
I prefer to travel up the moutain via train rather than down, it seemed a lot slower going down. Karunda is a lovely quaint town with lots of small shops and Markets.
We found the railway journey the best and the sky rail very good. We did not like Kuranda. It is predictable touristy junk but the Butterfly display centre is great.
