La Palma: Porís de Candelaria Walking Tour

3. La Palma: Porís de Candelaria Walking Tour

Tijarafe, northwest of La Palma, offers us the opportunity to visit a hidden place of singular beauty: the Porís de Candelaria. In this municipality, 700 meters above sea level, we find the Barranco del Jurado, from where we start the walk in search of a small paradise that hides on the coast of this town of living traditions. We descend towards the sea along the path PR LP 12.2. We are facing an impressive ravine with almost vertical walls that can reach 620 meters in altitude, with peculiar geological formations, farmland, bird populations and interesting species of flora. For this reason, it has been classified as a Jury Protected Natural Area. The ravine gradually narrows as we go down a winding path that takes us to Jurado beach, a coastal town that formerly served as a seaport through which goods, especially salt and fish, entered and left. We ascend the right bank of the El Jurado ravine along a winding path, like the one going down, observing impressive views of the ravine and the immense blue sea. In less than half an hour on foot and with our sights set on the steep and rugged western coast of the island, we will arrive at a curious natural port, built in honor of the Virgen de la Candelaria, where we will have free time before returning to transfer. A cave approximately 50 meters high with a row of almost.

Fantastic for me! Trip was fun, adventurous and sporty, but not for people who are not used to mountain hiking. Some people couldn't handle it. I thought it was great if it was even heavier for me. Count on about 300 altimeters. Barbara is a very sympathetic German guide, of course speaks Spanish. Lots of winding roads with the mini van. Fantastic good driver! Nothing but praise for this trip.

Very nice tour, scenically impressive. Our group was small with 4 participants, tour guide was great, responded very well to the participants (experience, condition). The organizers were also quick to answer questions beforehand. We can highly recommend the tour. Directions a bit complicated, you have to plan a little more time.

An excellent time spent with Numa, he knew how to put us at ease with the practice of kayaking He made us discover inaccessible places, we visited volcanic caves and were able to land and swim on an isolated black sand beach and magnificent. We highly recommend Numa's animation and thank him for this pleasant moment

Access to the event was difficult and demanding. The event was very fun. The guide was nice and very helpful. He helped beginners. The cave was amazing, what colors! But adventure worth every penny

Very cool, individual tour! Our guide Namu was funny, uncomplicated and had shown and told us interesting details. All without time pressure. Totally recommended!
