Well worth the trip! Must see this beautiful island. Saw three different colored lakes. 8 in a van. Get in and out several times. Did a lot of walking. Fun seeing how pineapples grow. Go lot of driving miles…some lakes hard to get to by walking down steep path. Take Dramamine if get car sick. Great guide. Lunch is very plentiful with fish and pork…wine, coffee, dessert…great bread. Do it! Much less than ship trip and see twice as much.

Starting our short vacation in Sao Miguel we do not imagine the real beauty of this place. The main person responsible for this revelation was our guide, Hugo Melo, from Green Vision Tours (www.greenvisiontours.com), who with his liveliness, willingness, knowledge, but above all with his love for his place, made us love his island too. The program we had agreed on was absolutely respected, and Hugo was very consistent in his services and in all his obligations and further on, making us feel like a friend. Thus our discussions extended to many other issues, which went beyond the information about the areas we visited, interchanging experiences and thoughts for our countries and socities, and for their common european future. Hugo, Thank you very much for what you showed us and taught us and we hope to meet again on your island and have your company again. Maria & Nikiforos, Greece

Our guide was really good but we had a Portuguese couple with us and our guide spoke to them more than he did to us. I clearly asked for an English tour. It would also help if there was a stool to help people in and out of the van. He was very kind and booked us a table at Furnas for lunch. When we had one on one with us, he shared a lot of great information.
