    Drive off the usual tourist trail on a 3.5-hour jeep tour of the Sete Cidades (Seven Cities) region of São Miguel, part of the Azores, departing from Ponta Delgada. Traveling by 4WD jeep, experience the dramatic scenery of the volcanic crater up close, and see unique flora and fauna. You will drive to the mountain summit where you can look down on the impressive lakes of the caldera, one called Lagoa Azul for its blue water, and the other known as Lagoa Verde (Green Water). En route, take in other picturesque spots of São Miguel, including the church of São Nicolau. Enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, volcanic cones, and stretches of green, from Vista do Rei, and drive through villages that have played a vital role in the story of the island.

    Rodrigez (sorry for spelling and pronunciation) was a fabulous guide. Passionate very knowledgable about his homeland and shared that with us. The day was misty, yet he made it as enjoyable had it been sunny. Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing and knowing a bit of Ponta Del Gada. Also one of us was in a wheelchair and he went out of his way to show everything, regardless of any disabilities, including getting us a table at a fabulous restaurant. OMG the food was to die for!

    Paolo our guide was excellent. He made an effort to translate everything into French for us. He was very competent and passionately passed on his knowledge to us. The jeep was perfect and could accommodate up to 6 passengers. In our case, there were only 4 of us. I highly recommend this excursion. ------------------------- Paolo our guide was excellent.
