Full description
The Pitti Palace was built in the second half of the 15th-century. It is believed to be a project of Filippo Brunelleschi for Luca Pitti but it was unfinished when he died in 1472. In 1550 it was purchased by Eleonora da Toledo, the wife of the Grand Duke Cosimo I de'Medici, as the official residence of the family. In 1560 it was renowned by Bartolomeo Ammannati then at the beginning of the 17th-century by Giulio and Alfonso Parigi. Several changes have been made over the centuries. Now, it houses several museums and is known for the beautiful Boboli Gardens. With your guide, go inside the Palatine Gallery to admire some masterpieces of famous painters including Caravaggio, Botticelli, Rubens, and Titians. Then, visit the Royal Apartments, where the Medici Family, The Grand Dukes of Tuscany, and the Italian Royal Family lived. After the guided visit you can visit the Boboli Gardens independently.

A good option to visit the Medici Palace.

It went very well with our guide Giulia Pogni. Know the spaces and the singularities that must be shown in them. If it were not so, the quantity and quality of the works is such that it would be very difficult to visit all the wealth of heritage that shows such magnificence. We only disliked the delay in entry due to the late arrival of tickets at the time of access to the Palace.

The visit to Palazzo Pitti is very interesting and I recommend it because it contains an important piece of our history and art. Our guide Natalia was really good at explaining the life of the Medici family with continuous historical and artistic references and was able to keep our attention high even with curiosity and secrets.I remember that Raffaello, Caravaggio, Tiziano meet ...
