Your delicious journey will include sweet typical pastry, then you will have the chance to taste a variety of delicious Tuscan food and Chianti wine. Passing through the heart of Florence city centre you will also get to the famous "All'Antico Vinaio", the most reviewed venue in the world in 2014, where you will have the luck to skip the line and taste the most renowned schiacciata (focaccia) in the world! You will discover small shops of fruit and vegetables, traditional bakeries and wine shops who sell glasses of wine from a typical counter directly opened on the street. Private E-Bike Tour: Piazzale Michelangelo & Florence hills

2. Private E-Bike Tour: Piazzale Michelangelo & Florence hills

Starting from the city center of Florence, reach first Piazzale Michelangelo and the picturesque hills of Fiesole, where the serenity of the Tuscan countryside meets some of the most spectacular views over the city! Riding an e-bike is as easy as riding a traditional bicycle: thanks to the powerful engine, we can ride uphill with just a little effort. From the heart of Florence, follow your guide to cross all the neighborhoods of the city, far from the historical center and the most popular areas of the downtown: thanks to the bike paths, getting to the hills is easy-going. Once outside the town, the electric engine will help to deal with the Tuscan hills. Immerse yourself into the sound, the good smells and the colours of the countryside, with secular cypresses, olive groves and small vineyards hidden in the middle of the hills where Leonardo da Vinci used to come for his studies. From here, we can admire some of the most beautiful panoramic views over Florence. After the amazing view from Piazzale Michelangelo, turn by turn, we’ll reach Fiesole, a small Etruscan town that, from above, dominates the North side of the hills: a perfect frame to see how a small village of the IV Century BC combines its history with some of the most exclusive private villas around Florence. Once back you will enjoy the taste of a delicious florentine "gelato". Please note: the order of the visits may change

Furthermore, you will visit a local bakery and taste some Tuscan bread, then you will taste two main courses (including a pasta dish). But keep in mind that those are just a couple of stops: you will be led through a five-course meal with their paired wine, with an amazing gelato at the end. How can you find out which dishes will be tasted? By joining the experience, of course!

Florence: Guided Walking Tour with Entry to Santa Croce

4. Florence: Guided Walking Tour with Entry to Santa Croce

The tour starts in the main square, where the famous soccer game in medieval costumes, the Calcio Storico Florentino, takes place here every year in June. On this tour, you will learn a lot about history and Michelangelo's life. Your guide will describe in detail all the immense artistic wealth in Santa Croce; frescoes (1380) by Gaddi in the Cappella Maggiore tell the story of "Santa Croce", and beautiful frescoes by Giotto in the Bardi and Peruzzi Chapels show scenes from the life of St. Francis and St. John the Evangelist. On your way to the left of the entrance, you'll see the memorial of the 19th-century playwright Giovanni Battista Niccolini built as an inspiration for the Statue of Liberty. As you walk through the hallowed walls, learn the art of Donatello and his crucifix, one of the jewels of the Renaissance, as well the art of Brunelleschi and the perfect architectural harmony of his Chapel of Fools. The Church also bears the marks of history, including those left by the tragic flood of 1966 that damaged several paintings and destroyed the monumental cemetery, which was subsequently restored and is part of this tour. After visiting the interior, the guide will explain the exterior, which is covered with a polychrome marble façade. Finally, the guide will tour the Bell Tower, Crypt and the16 Chapels. The tour takes about an hour, and you can also return to anything you want to see again after the tour ends. Later in the afternoon, meet the guide in front of the Hard Rock Cafe to start the walking tour. Receive insight into the history of this Renaissance city and how this incredible cultural movement of the Renaissance transformed not only Florence but eventually the rest of Europe. Begin with Piazza Della Republica, the main square of Florence, before heading straight to the Piazza Della Duomo. Whilst passing the Duomo Square, the guide will lead you straight through the old buildings and some of the historical landmarks of Florence to Palazzo Vecchio, where you will see the Sculpture of David by Michelangelo. Afterward, as you walk past the Palazzo Vecchio, the guide will talk you through the Uffizi Gallery, one of the greatest museums of the world, before you reach the most famous old bridge of Florence known as Ponte Vecchio. Your next stop is at Palazzo Pitti, the enormous palace of Florence's largest architectural monuments of Filippo Brunelleschi. As you walk through the narrow roads of this ancient city with lots of hidden treasures, the guide will answer all the curious secrets of the city. Finally, the guide will talk you through the artists, architects, thinkers, and political figures who led to the Renaissance, before your last stop to La Strega Nocciola for delicious gelato.

What people are saying about Piazza di Santa Croce

We had Michela as our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing. She was a foodie herself, explained the food culture in Florence as well as suggesting places to go after the tour (and places to avoid!) We had coffee with the rice cake, did some wine tasting, had the classic crostini and some more "exotic" crostini such as beef tripe (which was the best one in my opinion)! Michela was fantastic and I highly recommend the tour if you're a foodie. Thanks for a great experience!

BEST BEST TOUR!! My family loved this. Lisa was an amazing guide: super friendly, answered all our questions, and was funny too! We loved trying all of the traditional foods, and getting to see the market was the best part! Come with a big appetite because you get a lot of food and you also get a history lesson along the way. loved this!!!

Our food tour was fabulous! We really liked having Elisabetta as our tour guide. She was very personable and shared not only about the food culture of Florence, but also shared tips for getting the most out of our stay in Florence and at the local museums.

This is what Tuscany tastes like. With Michela we had an extremely funny, loving and competent guide. Great stops that you wouldn't find as a tourist. With delicious wine and sensational food. Everything from sweet to salty. Absolute recommendation.
