Full description
Explore the beauty around the Phi Phi Islands on a 6-hour longtail boat tour. Watch the sunset over the Phi Phi archipelago and enjoy some included snacks, then take a dip with bioluminescent plankton once the sun has gone down. Make your way to the meeting point in front of McDonald's in Tonsai Bay at 1:30 PM. Once you have boarded your boat, depart for Monkey Beach, one of Koh Phi Phi's most interesting beaches inhabited only by monkeys. Encounter the macaques on the island, which are also known as crab-eating macaques as they are often seen foraging for crabs. Next, sail to discover the mysteries of the Viking Cave, famous for the seemingly prehistoric painting of a Viking boat on its wall. The cave was once used for the extraction of birds' nests, prized ingredients in Chinese culture for making medicinal soups believed to help with longevity. Continue your tour to Pi Leh Lagoon, and marvel at the azure/turquoise waters in this beautiful enclosed lagoon encircled by towering limestone cliffs. See certain spots glow from beneath the water, and take advantage of this fantastic photo opportunity. After Pi Leh Lagoon, head to Loh Samah Bay to snorkel with diverse marine life on a coral reef. Admire this wonderful paradise, which provides an alternative to the world-famous Maya Bay from the film “The Beach” due to its proximity. Maya Bay is closed for another 2 years to allow recovery from over-tourism but is separated from Loh Samah Bay by only one limestone mountain. Finally, enjoy a spectacular sunset with views of the Phi Phi archipelago before swimming with bioluminescent plankton at night. Delight in the glow of the plankton as they are touched in the water, making it look like you are swimming with stars in the night sky. The tour concludes with a transfer back to the port at around 7:30 PM.

The trip itself was running late and in the there is a high number of vendors selling the same thing. The trip itself was nice. The boat driver took us around to each location. Our boat was one of probably 8 boats at each stop, with 16 people per boat. Expect pictures to include people and boats. Also, if you pay the park pass online make sure you have the ticket visible as they will ask you for payment when you arrive on maya beach, and have no record of if you paid or not. PLEASE READ: to activate bioluminescent plankton, you must jump into the water at night. It is surreal and worth it!

It was just 4 of us on a private longtail, we enjoyed the tour. lots of snorkeling and quick stops. Monkey beach, Maya bay, etc. However if someone is not into snorkeling and swimming so much it can be a long day. The sunset was nice out on the water and the Bioluminescent Plankton thing was really a dud, nothing like the description and pictures. I did jump in and stir them up to see them a bit but overall a waste of time IMO. The cost for the day was good and a decent sightseeing tour! if you choose this tour keep in mind that it is not a high end excursion but a fun day on a tiny boat!

I actually took the island hopping trip twice! Was super happy I could book this tour last minute since I was not able to communicate with the long tail boat guys at the pier. The first time taking the tour the weather wasn’t so great so I decided to take it a second time. Very glad I did because the weather was amazing the second time round and the water super clear and snorkeling spots were stunning. Being able to swim in glowing plankton was also a highlight of my entire trip. The boatman was friendly and he helped get up on the boat and down the entire trip. Didn’t feel awkward at all as a solo traveller.
