This was such a great day and the perfect way to see more of the Phi Phi islands. We were given snorkel gear and several opportunities to jump out and swim at different points in the day. We were lucky enough to see several reef sharks even! Around lunch time we were dropped off on a gorgeous small island with the packed lunch of rice and chicken. There is a small "snack shack" that sells other drinks and food if the lunch is not enough. The beaches were beautiful and it was a nice break to rest from all the snorkeling. We were taken to another beach to watch the sunset, then on to a different place to swim in the bioluminescent plankton once it got dark. The plankton were not as bright as I expected, but still very cool to see. I definitely recommend this tour as a way to get out onto the water and see all of the Phi Phi islands!
I actually took the island hopping trip twice! Was super happy I could book this tour last minute since I was not able to communicate with the long tail boat guys at the pier. The first time taking the tour the weather wasn’t so great so I decided to take it a second time. Very glad I did because the weather was amazing the second time round and the water super clear and snorkeling spots were stunning. Being able to swim in glowing plankton was also a highlight of my entire trip. The boatman was friendly and he helped get up on the boat and down the entire trip. Didn’t feel awkward at all as a solo traveller.
It was just 4 of us on a private longtail, we enjoyed the tour. lots of snorkeling and quick stops. Monkey beach, Maya bay, etc. However if someone is not into snorkeling and swimming so much it can be a long day. The sunset was nice out on the water and the Bioluminescent Plankton thing was really a dud, nothing like the description and pictures. I did jump in and stir them up to see them a bit but overall a waste of time IMO. The cost for the day was good and a decent sightseeing tour! if you choose this tour keep in mind that it is not a high end excursion but a fun day on a tiny boat!
I could not recommend this tour enough, this was one of the best days of our whole trip. Lovely, friendly staff on board, as much free water and coca cola as you'd like and lovely food provided. Short journeys in between islands and the perfect amount of time spent in each location. We never felt rushed or like we didn't have enough time to see the islands we stopped at. Snorkelling was amazing and snorkels were provided if you didn't have your own.
Such a fun filled day with beautiful views, beaches, rocks, islands, everything! There were a few more people in the tour as I would have hoped, but I still had an amazing time! Snorkeling to see the sharks in the beginning and at night to see the plankton was very cool!
