Perth: Pinnacle Desert Sunset and Stargazing with Dinner

1. Perth: Pinnacle Desert Sunset and Stargazing with Dinner

Heading north away from the city towards Yanchep National Park, you will make a quick comfort stop which will provide an opportunity to see the koalas and kangaroos. From here you will go up the coast towards the magical Pinnacle Desert to view the mystical limestone rock formations. Arriving here in the late afternoon avoids the crowds and heat, and allows for breathtaking sunsets. Experience the moon-like landscape come to life as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean and the moon rises. Once darkness falls, you will head to the fishing town of Cervantes for your included dinner in a traditional Western Australian tavern to soak up a real Australian atmosphere. Following dinner, you will head out into the night to experience the star-filled night sky. You will head back into the Pinnacle Desert to the observation deck to experience the tranquillity of the national park, and view the night sky without light pollution. Once you have had your fill of the enormous night sky, you will return to Perth arriving at approximately 11.00PM.

From Perth: Toodyay Sights Tour with Dinner and Stargazing

2. From Perth: Toodyay Sights Tour with Dinner and Stargazing

Explore one of Australia’s older European-settled towns, Toodyay, founded in 1836.  Be picked up in Perth before heading to Toodyay. See the historical buildings and learn about some of the earliest Europeans that settled there. Learn how the original town was flooded in the 1850s and was moved to its contemporary location.  Next up is a visit to a camel dairy that has recently built the world's first mobile camel milking system. Take a guided tour with the owner and even feel free to sample some of the produce.  Then head to one of Western Australia's oldest wineries to enjoy a cellar wine tasting in the cellar. The winery’s owners are fourth-generation owners who know all the ins-and-outs.   Next get ready for a tasty barbecue dinner in the paddock with a caravan of camels for company. Make the most of the company of the unique dinner guests — they can be great conversationalists some nights.  Then after a glorious sunset, lie back, relax, and look up at the beautiful night skies of the southern hemisphere as you listen to stories created under the dark skies of ancient Australia by some of the world's first astronomers — the Aboriginal Australians. Benefit from the use of professional equipment to get a close-up view of the planets, moon, stars, nebulas, and galaxies using equipment from our mobile observatory. Round off your trip with a transfer back to your accommodation in Perth.

What people are saying about Perth

A must do if you find yourself in Perth! Chris was incredibly knowledgeable not only about the unique place that is Western Australia but also astronomy and the night sky. He was so passionate about both it was contagious. The clouds had other plans for our sunset but the lighting in the desert before hand was breathtaking. We were lucky enough to get a clearing in time for stargazing with a fantastic view of the Southern Cross and Orion’s Belt. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience, amazing guide. The pinnacles look stunning and u feel in another planet. The only upsetting thing (out of our control)was the weather, as it was cloudy, we unfortunatly were not able to stargazing. But our guide knew how to use our precious time and we spent an hour talking about stars, planets and astronomy. Super. Strongly recomended.

- Great guide who provided very insightful info and history about the places. - Timing for each destination is well spaced out & you don’t feel like you are being rushed from 1 place to another - we have a fairly big group that day, the Guide may need an extra assistant to support him during the trip. Nevertheless, he was quite amazing as a 1-man show.

Where very helpful arranging pick up and drop off point. Great dinner. Star gazing was lots of fun.

Our guide Chris was absolutely amazing! Kept us engaged and shared lots of great information!
