After your lunch, have the opportunity to take a five-star Loch Ness boat cruise from Fort Augustus*. Taking to the waters for the best chance you'll get to spot the monster and admire the beauty of this mysterious loch. Continue north through Inverness before traveling south thorugh the stunning the mountains of Cairngorms National Park. Drive over Drumochter Pass reaching at 1500 feet above sea level and pass the 13th century Blair Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Atholl. Proceed south through the Perthshire forests, stopping for a quick refreshment stop on the way back to Glasgow. *This route will change from 1st April 2023 and the tour won't travel along the whole length of Loch Ness.

After your visit to Stirling Castle, make your way back to Glasgow.

On the banks of the River Tay you find the gorgeous cathedral town of Dunkeld. You stop here and have the chance to explore the architecturally fascinating cathedral or walk the quaint streets of this picturesque village. It's a short drive from here to the Hermitage, where you can take a fantastic woodland walk leading up to the Black Linn Falls. Leaving the Hermitage you follow the wide valley of the River Tay towards the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry. You spend around one hour here, so you can visit the many great shops or have lunch. After lunch, you drive through Highland Perthshire, stopping at Queen's View overlooking Loch Tummel for a short break. On a clear day the view here is awe-inspiring as it looks over to the unmistakable peak of Schiehallion and beyond to the mountains of Glencoe. From here you travel to the town of Aberfeldy and Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery*, where you can discover the secret of how Scotland's national drink is made. After enjoying a dram of our ‘water of life’, the tour returns you to the Lowlands and back to Edinburgh. **Itinerary and distillery visits are subject to change. *** Dewar's Distillery will close their warehouse to the public from 21st November 2022 till Spring 2023. You'll still get a tour and see the blending and maturation process in another area of the visitor center.

Traveling in a comfortable 16-seat Mercedes minibus, you will depart Edinburgh and head west past Stirling Castle. The first stop will be Doune Castle, built for Robert Stewart, the Duke of Albany, over 600 years ago. You might recognize it from the famous comedy film, Monty Python and The Holy Grail.   Continue to Callander, where you will pause for a coffee, before leaving the rolling farms for the wild mountains and forests of the Highlands. Visit Loch Luibnaig, and continue over the Braes of Balquhidder, the final resting place of Highland outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor. Made famous by Sir Walter Scott, Rob Roy was a sort-of Highland Robin Hood, who stole from the rich but never quite got around to giving it to the poor. From Balquhidder, the tour winds its way through the tough knot of mountains known as Breadalbane. Stop for lunch in a small West Highland village.  Continue past Kilchurn Castle in the middle of Loch Awe, and on through Campbell country to the picturesque town of Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne. Visit the 18th-Century castle, home of the Duke of Argyll, chief of the Campbell clan. Depart Inveraray, and drive up through the steep mountains of the Arrochar Alps, to the great viewpoint at “Rest and Be Thankful,” given its name by the weary soldiers who had just finished building the military road up through Glen Croe.  Skirt Loch Long, and drive down to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest loch. Stop at the conservation village of Luss, to admire its quaint houses and stunning views across the loch, and then make your way back to Edinburgh, with a short stop underneath Stirling Castle.

Day 2 Catch the morning ferry for a 2-hour sail along Loch Broom, past the Summer Isles and then out across the Minch to Stornoway, the main town on Lewis and the capital of the Outer Hebrides. Keep an eye out for dolphins, whales, and seabirds during the crossing. In the afternoon you’ll explore the north-west coast from Arnol, through traditional crofting townships to the Port of Ness and the very northern tip of the island. Overnight in Stornoway. Day 3 Spend the day exploring some of the prehistoric remains on the island and visit its finest beaches. The fascinating circular stone fort, or Broch, at Carloway will be your first stop, followed by more traditional crofting communities such as Gearrannan and Shawbost. Then it’s on to Callanish with its mysterious ancient stone circle. In the afternoon you’ll head to the remote district of Uig with its fine sandy beaches at Bhaltos, and dramatic sea cliffs and rugged hills. Overnight in Stornoway. Day 4 Travel south from the wild moorlands of Lewis to the more mountainous Harris, which is almost, but not quite, an island on its own. Famous for the locally produced cloth, Harris Tweed, it is also home to the highest mountains in the Outer Hebrides and the stunning white sands of Luskentyre. After a morning of exploring South Harris you’ll stop for lunch in the small port of Tarbet. Catch the late afternoon ferry to Skye and continue on to the picturesque village of Plockton for your overnight stay. Day 5 This is your day to explore the Isle of Skye. There are many possibilities depending on the weather and your driver/guide will decide on the best day out for the group. You might head west to Dunvegan Castle, the 13th-century home of the Clan Macleod, to the emerald green valley of Glendale, or to the dramatic sea-cliffs and lonely lighthouse at Neist Point. In the afternoon the tour may concentrate on the south of the island. Spend time at Elgol to admire the seascapes and views of the Cuillin, or Talisker and its beautiful bay or Glenbrittle and its famed waterfalls. Overnight in Plockton.
