Enjoy some time in the quiet village of Peratallada, followed by some free time to relax at Calella de Palafrugell. Meet in central Barcelona and leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind as you admire the views of the Catalan countryside. Arrive in Girona, a city known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and thriving food scene. Enjoy a leisurely guided stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Town and walk along the well-preserved Roman Walls. Pause for some coffee and taste a delicious local pastry known as a Xuixo. Next, travel to the relaxed medieval town of Peratallada. Discover this lesser-visited area of Catalonia with a walk through the town with your guide. Finally, make your way to Calella de Palafrugell, an old fishing village formed by several beautiful coves. Begin this day trip with a visit to Calella de Palafrugell, where it seems that time stands still. Move on to the beach of Port Bo where you'll see the boats on their daily fishing trip. Along the coast, admire the low and whitewashed cottages that have been renovated but retain all the charm of yesteryear. The coastline in this area has been saved from the building frenzy has affected our coast lately. Uncover the Indiano Colonial-style houses, built for people who emigrated to America and Cuba and returned with a fortune. Some returned home with the memory of those foreign lands and its sweet and sad music, the Havaneres. On the beach of Port Bo, admire the packed boats filled with people singing their melancholic songs. Take a 15-minute walk along a sea path to Llafranc, a small Cove of golden sand with a small promenade, terraces, and restaurants. From here, the surrounding hills where the lighthouse of Sant Sebastià stands provides magnificent views over the coast. From Llafranc you'll go to Begur, another fishing village, with a castle at the top overlooking the coast and the plain of the Baix Empordà. Wander through the intricate narrow streets and small squares, discovering little gems that stand out over the other buildings. Stop for lunch in Pals, where you can taste the delicious rice that is grown in this area. After lunch, visit the Gothic quarter known as Pedro, the Church of Sant Pere, the Tower of the hours, and Peratallada, a marvel of medieval civil architecture. See how this small town retains its feudal inheritance intact, with narrow, winding streets and stone buildings. Visit the moat, the Castle-Palace, the square with porches, and other little streets that take your fancy.

Join a captivating guided day trip by coach to Catalonia's Medieval towns: Besalú, Peratallada, and Begur in the scenic Costa Brava region. Begin your adventure in the morning at Sants train station and travel in comfort and style to your first destination, Besalú. Take the opportunity to join an optional city tour to discover the city's historical treasures. Relish the chance to enjoy a leisurely picnic in the charming setting of Besalú. Around 1:30 p.m., hop back on the bus and head to Peratallada, a quaint gem often hailed as the most beautiful town in the region. It's like stepping into a movie or a fairytale book. At approximately 3:30 p.m., the journey takes you to Begur, nestled in the scenic Costa Brava. Depending on the weather, you may even stop at the beach for a refreshing seaside break. Return to Barcelona, arriving at approximately 8 p.m.

En esta ruta por las Vilas Catalanas iremos como lo hacían antiguamente, por caminos de tierra, donde el polvo del camino se adhiere a las ruedas, los aromas del campo nos hacen transportarnos a otra época, otro siglo, pequeños campanarios nos observaran desde lo alto de sus torreones, donde os contaremos leyendas ya olvidadas por el paso del viento y la lluvia, el sol y la imaginación del boca a boca de sus gentes.  Estaremos pedaleando durante 16-20km, con paradas para que nuestro guía nos cuente la historia, antiguas batallas y leyendas de la zona. Nuestro principal objetivo es que disfrutes de la experiencia. Es importante tener una recompensa después de hacer ejercicio físico al aire libre, así que al final de la ruta nos dirigiremos a una restaurante local  para probar la mejor gastronomía y vino de la zona. Esta experiencia incluye: - Bici y casco - Guía de cicloturismo - Seguro de responsabilidad civil - Barritas energéticas y fruta para el camino - Botellas de agua si alguien no lleva - Comida en restaurante local al final de la ruta en bici (incluye entrantes compartidos, un principal, postre, agua y vino) Duración: La ruta en bici empezará a las 9:oo de la mañana y terminará en torno a las 14h, para ir a comer al restaurante. No estaremos todo el tiempo cliclando ya que haremos paradas para aprender sobre los pueblos visitados. En Julio y Agosto empezaremos antes, 7:00 de la mañana, para evitar las horas de más calor.  *Según el tour exacto que escojamos, visitaremos: Palau-Sator, Fonclara, Pals, Sant Feliu de Boada, Sant Julia de Boada y Peratallada; o Ullastret, Casavells, Corça, Monells, Castell de l'Emporda y Canapost.

5. From Girona: Medieval Costa Brava Day Trip

After getting picked up from your hotel in Girona, head to Peratallada, a beautiful, well-preserved medieval town. Enjoy some time to walk around before sampling some traditional snacks to build up your energy before heading to the village of Pals for a guided tour. Next, head towards Begur, where you can wander around and discover the area's colonial past. Then, descend into Calella, a beautiful and famous fishing village. Here, you'll have lunch and enjoy some time to take a walk along the Camí de Ronda, the old path used by locals and the police to combat smuggling, towards the neighboring town of Llafranc, or towards Cala del Golfet, an oh-so-Mediterranean beach. Then drive to the Sant Sebastià Lighthouse, a beautiful natural viewpoint where you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Costa Brava and the towns of Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc, before heading back to Girona.
