Full-Day Medoc Wine Tour

1. Full-Day Medoc Wine Tour

Departing from a central location in Bordeaux, this small group tour explores the beautiful Medoc wine-growing region of France. You will head towards the famous wine-producing appellations such as Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estephe. You will enjoy 3 visits in Classified Growth or Cru Bourgeois estates that have been carefully selected for their exceptional setting and quality of wine. You will learn all there is to know about the history of the estates, the wine making process, as well as the techniques used during wine making. A wine tasting session follows the visits. The Medoc area covers approximately 5,700 hectares of declared vineyards, producing an average 300,000 hectoliters of wine per year. Of the grape varieties permitted, 50% of the viticultural area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and to a lesser extent Petit Verdot and Malbec. Also allowed within the AOC regulations are the varieties Cabernet Franc and Carménère. After your tasting sessions, follow the castle road to see some of the most famous châteaux of the region, such as Chateau Margaux, Chateau Palmer, or Chateau Pichon Longueville.

Wonderful tour!

Our driver Radouane, was wonderful. Radouane picked us on time from our hotel in Bordeaux. He was very knowledgeable on wine and the entire region, as well as conversational, and kind. Our itinerary was great. We visited 3 chateau. Our favorite was Chateau Hourtin-Ducasse, a small, family-owned vineyard with a strong eco-friendly objective. Fun owner who helped us through our first ever wine tasting. Our organizer Daniel, set up great vineyards to visit and a beautiful lunch at a local restaurant.

Incredibly knowledgable guide, didn't stop learning!

Alain was amazing, not only did he teach us a plethora of facts about Bordeaux and the Medoc region- but wine in general. He had a great personality, and even had us laughing! The drive around the region was incredible, Alain taught us about aprox 50 different Vinyards in multiple appellations. The Chateaux tours were very well done, we were able to taste multiple types of wine, even within the same region. I would take another tour with him again, in a different region!

The Cristina guide is perfect: punctual, kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the region and wines. The tour went smoothly and safely, in an excellent car through 3 wonderful wineries with a delicious lunch in a small restaurant. Very good will, to make photos, nice chat. It left us very comfortable.

Well worth doing, small group in a comfortable mini van, Alex was our driver and was very informative about the region. We visited 3 Chateaus and had a lunch stop, lunch is not included in price.

Would recommend, great guide.

The guide was great and very informative. The only aspect we would reconsider is researching the region a little more to better understand the classification system.
