Full description

Explore some of the most important sights in Normandy – the remains of historic Allied landings that changed the course of the Second World War. The full-day tour from Paris will take you to the German battery of Longues sur Mer, part of the German's Atlantic Wall of defense. You will also stop at the American Cemetery in Colleville, for an emotional visit, where 9,386 soldiers now rest. In 2007 a new Visitor Center was created to commemorate the operations of the D-Day Landings, and you will have time to learn more about these dramatic events. Continue to Omaha Beach, where more bloody events took place, and spend some time contemplating those moments before you break for lunch. In the early afternoon, you will see the ruins of the Arromanches’ artificial harbor, built by the Allies in less than 15 days.

Finally, continue along the coast past Gold Beach to Juno Beach, where you will get a guided tour of the remains of the Atlantic Wall, before your return to Paris.

Excellent full day tour with Nicolas! We had 8 of us in the van - very comfortable set-up and spacious vehicle. The drive took about 3 hours each way and Nicolas was great in providing relevant information as we got closer to the sites (and letting us all sleep in the car for the early morning / late afternoon). The tour was very well planned starting with point du hoc, omaha beach, american cemetery. The provided lunch at the farm house was so delicious in a wonderful environment. The visit to Arromanches after lunch was also very interesting. I was glad the tour ended at about 6:30pm in Paris since the day was pretty long. I think the semi-private vans are able to travel faster than the large buses (though these tours are cheaper) so this was a huge plus, also the vans are able to travel to areas where the buses cannot easily go. I really appreciated Nicolas driving, knowledge, and attention to detail. He is an EXCELLENT guide! Thank you!
