Full description

Discover iconic castles on this bus day trip from Paris to the Loire Valley and explore Château de Chambord on a self-guided tour. Have free time in the charming town of Bloise and have the chance to visit Blois Castle on your own. Visit Château de Chenonceau for a self guided tour and wine tasting experience.

From Paris, head to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in "Beauty and the Beast." Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed.

Learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide before entering the castle. You can then visit the inside at your own pace on a self-guided visit. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci, enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views, and glimpse wild deer around the grounds.

Having worked up an appetite, get back on the bus and continue on to the next stop: the quaint town of Blois. Take some free time to enjoy lunch (at your own expense) in one of the restaurants located around the beautiful and vibrant Square Louis XII.

Alternatively, grab a bite and visit the royal Blois Castle on your own, notable for its unique mix of medieval Gothic and neoclassical Renaissance architecture.

Last but not least is the elegant Château de Chenonceau. The chapel, bedrooms, and magnificent vaulted kitchens are still furnished and decorated from times gone by, showing off the castle’s many sweeping stone carvings.

Don’t miss the impressive main hall, which spans the river Cher, or the gardens cultivated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici — 2 of the famous owners that earned Chenonceau the nickname "the Ladies’ Château."

After a your visit, continue exploring or indulge in a wine tasting in the castle’s vaulted wine cellar. Your tour leader will entertain you between stops with insights and stories about the countryside and the nobility who once reigned over the region.

Three uniquely beautiful French castles and a wine tasting, all amid the stunning scenery of the Loire Valley — this memorable day trip from Paris will delight all the senses.

My wife said this experience was "a trip of a lifetime" - so there you have it! If you're on a tight timeline and want to see the Loire Valley from Paris, then this is your trip. It was a fast paced day once you arrive in the valley, but the tour guide and bus trip were exceptional. The views are stunning and world-class history lessons come with this tour, so buckle up for a good time. We had booked the ticket with a wine tasting at Chenonceau and it was cancelled before we arrived - not sure how they can do that mid-tour but it happened and we were only refunded $20 (USD). I will say that was our only complaint, but overall this is a remarkable day trip and well worth the money in today's times.

As others reviewers said: yes it is rushed and yes you only have about 1 hour at each place, but realistically if you only have a day and you want to know all those places, there’s no other way. The bus only stops briefly for a restroom break and it goes as fast as it can. In Blois you either have lunch or see the town. You can’t do both. Hope you can hold your hunger if you choose the latter. By the way, in the morning there’s no stop for breakfast so buy some snacks the day before. Our guide Mini was fine and entertaining. The bus was comfy, the castles are really worth it and punctuality was not an issue. I didn’t feel the wine tasting was rushed and there was a great explanation done by a local expert.

This trip was WONDERFUL! It’s a long day but 100% worth it. Our two guides were friendly and gave a ton of historical information about the Loire and the châteaux - which I really appreciated. The wine tasting was great as well! You do have to move along through the châteaux fairly quickly to see everything, but since they let you go at your own pace you can really decide what you want to see. They give you plenty of opportunities to use the bathroom and we even stopped for coffee/tea and breakfast on our way to the Loire. Book and you won’t regret it - just wear comfy shoes ;)
