Full description
Take a day trip from Paris to the Champagne region of France for a tasting session of the world’s finest bubbly. Escape the capital city on your private air-conditioned coach with your expert champagne guide. In the heart of the Champagne locale, your bus will stop at the charming village of Éparnay. You’ll stroll through the village with the most expensive street in the world. Along with countless other producers, Éparnay is also home to the ultra-modern Nicolas Feuillatte House cellars. Depending on how busy their season is, one of these will be where you wet your lips with your first Champagne tasting of the day. Afterward, you will definitely have free time to explore the streets in search of the Avenue de Champagne and a spot of locally produced lunch. After lunch, your coach will coast along the Route de Champagne to nearby Hautvillers. Passing through the hillside vineyards you will discover why this village is known as the birthplace of Bubbly. Along with the surrounding sea of vines, the village also contains a medieval Benedictine abbey. This was where the divinely inspired monk, Dom Pérignon, made the happy discovery of Champagne. His eureka moment was supposedly followed by the exclamation “Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!”.  Not far from Hautvillers is the medieval chateau of Veuve Clicquot. Here you will have the opportunity to roam the grounds of another iconic champagne producer. You’ll see exactly how they take the grapes from their fields and transform them into their award-winning champagnes. You’ll also get to explore their family cellars which still contain ancient bottles. The tour will finish on the terraces overlooking the vineyards that stretch on into the distance where you can sample 3 more of their own champagnes. Suitably satisfied, it will be time to head back to Paris.

Michelle our guide was fun, upbeat and informative. We stopped at 2 wineries that were completely different a small house and a large house. The contrast really helped to understand and appreciate the art of making champagne.

Fun day trip outside of Paris. Our guide Michelle was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We toured two champagne houses and two charming villages. It was great to get out of the city and see the beautiful countryside in Champagne.
