Full description
Follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and other characters from the Harry Potter movies. J.K. Rowling applied to study at Oxford university and so she was familiar with Oxford. Thus, when they were producing the films, Rowling walked the producers around Oxford, pointing out various sights which they could use, such as the statue that looks like 'Nearly Headless Nick', and Turf Tavern Lane, which looks like Knockturn Alley. This tour will enter one Harry Potter film site called the Divinity School, located at the Bodleian library, which is where they filmed the infirmary and dance scenes. Although the other film sites and the colleges of the university are currently closed, this tour showcases where the Harry Potter movies were filmed in Oxford. You will be passing the city's famous sights and colleges from the outside. You will also be provided with lots of insights about the actors, the producers and about JK Rowling's inspirations. As you walk around, you will take part in a Harry Potter quiz to test your knowledge of the books and films. The guide will also describe how student life in Oxford compares with Hogwarts.

Absolutely brilliant tour!! Our guide Peter took us through the city centre, lots of interesting facts, not just about Harry Potter but also about history of Oxford. I find the best way to learn about the place you visit - is to go on a guided tour. And Peter did it amazingly, it was fun, interactive, engaging, lots of details you wouldn't even notice if you walked on your own. Would highly recommend.

The tour is in a small group of people which allowed more personal touring! Our guide, Peter, was very friendly and told us not only about HP, but also a lot about the history of Oxford which was very interesting! His best interest was keeping everyone together, waiting for others as we walked from place to place and keeping everyone happy (with help of cake)! I would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting Oxford since we were informed about many activities to do and places to visit. Even if you're not a massive Harry Potter fan, this tour is very gripping!

Our tour guide was very helpful and informative. He kept my son's attention and made him even more excited about and interested in Harry Potter. The tour was very enjoyable and still covered a lot of general Oxford history in addition to HP tidbits. The divinity school was a really cool place to visit. I only wish the colleges were open so we could have seen more filming locations.
