See the picturesque countryside of Montenegro on a guided day trip from Kotor, Budva, Tivat, or Herceg Novi with optional hotel transfers. Cross the 365-meter-long bridge, 172 meters above the canyon floor if you´d like. Proceed to the hidden jewel of Durmitor National Park, the majestic Black Lake, among 18 glacial lakes above 1,500 meters on Durmitor Mountain. Altogether they are called "Mountain Eyes". Embark on a hike on the 4-kilometer trail around the lake. Stop at Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkans, located at 1,450 meters above sea level. Dine on a lunch of traditional Montenegrin food. Afterward, hit the road towards the most visited spiritual site in Montenegro, the Ostrog Monastery. Begin your ascent up the narrow and winding road close to sunset, enjoying spectacular views of the highly-perched monastery. View the relics of the monk Vasilije Ostroški, who founded the place. Return to Kotor at the end of your tour.

High in mountains next to Niksic, you'll find the Monastery of Ostrog, the biggest Montenegrin pilgrimage site built in 17th-century where you will find the remains of St. Vasilije Ostroski. The holy relics of Saint Basil can be found in the lower church of the upper monastery. Ostrog Monastery was built by natural and human interaction, carved almost in its entirety in a vertically positioned mountain cliff. There is not much written evidence about the process and time of construction, but looking at it now, it is a really amazing piece of human work difficult to imagine being done even today with modern technology. This monastery, carved in the mountains, is high above Bjelopavlici plain. The most impressive part of the monastery is Upper Ostog where two small churches are built, upper small church dedicated to Saint Cross and lower dedicated to the Presentation of Mary. This sanctuary is one of the most visited orthodox pilgrimage sites in the world. It is a spiritual center of Montenegro and also a place for pilgrims to gather of various faiths and religions of the world. This breathtaking destination will fill your soul with high elevated feelings of devotion and reverence to God. After the monastery visit, go to Rijeka Crnojevic, for sure the most attractive part of Skadar Lake National Park. While visiting Rijeka Crnojevic, you will have many photo opportunities as well as a lunch break, a great opportunity to taste the most delicious fish soup, fish and wine. During the 19th and early 20th-century, Rijeka Crnojevic was the biggest Montenegrin port and leading shopping center. Due to its uniqueness and exquisite taste, dried bleak was one of the most popular products in this area, especially at the Italian table. Pavlova strana is the place found on most of the postcards from Montenegro, certainly most impressive during the May October period thanks to its vegetation - blooming water lilies, just adding to the beauty of this magnificent place. That is where you will have some time on your own, as well as the chance to walk around and enjoy yourself in this peaceful area.

You will begin your tour by visiting the most famous waterfalls near the capital, Niagara Waterfalls. On the way to the falls, you will be able to see the Cijevna River Canyon, which was formerly the border between Montenegro and the Ottoman Empire until 1912. The waterfall was named after the Niagara waterfalls in Canada. Being much smaller, the waterfall is a great attraction for "Podgorica", and a place to rest on hot summer days.  Sometimes during the summer, the waterfalls dry up, so you get the opportunity to visit Virpazar or the lookouts above the river Crnojević, both part of the Skadar Lake National Park. These options are always available at the client's request. Kayaking in Virpazar can also be organized for an extra fee. After visiting the waterfall, the road will lead you up to the Ostrog Monastery. The beauty of this monastery, made by St.Vasilije, was written by Napoleon’s colonel and French commander Viala de Somier, who visited the monastery in 1810. He wrote a book about Montenegro before published it in Paris 10 years later. Ostrog Monastery also has relics of a boy named Stanko from Podvraca Village, who was killed by the Turks in 1714. From the terraces of this monastery, there are beautiful views of the Bjelopavlic plain and the Zeta River. In the Upper Monastery, all believers are provided with a bottle of holy water and oil. The monastery complex consists of a church, a large conch, and a series of ground-level buildings that once served as classrooms. The whole complex is surrounded by a high stone fence. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to your point of origin.
