Algonquin Park: Adventure Tour from Toronto

2. Algonquin Park: Adventure Tour from Toronto

Take a break from the bustle of Toronto and head into nature for a day. Visit Canada's oldest provincial park on a guided excursion. Get picked up from the meeting point and drive to Algonquin. Spend an enriching 6 hours at the park snowshoeing, hiking, spotting wildlife, canoeing, and swimming. Hop aboard the van in Toronto and head toward the park on a relaxing drive. If there's enough snow, put on your snowshoes for a combined snowshoeing and hiking experience. The activity begins with a short waterfall hike with views sure to take your breath away. Walk up to this hidden gem and marvel at the water gushing over craggy surfaces and glistening in the sun. Continue onto Booth's Rock Trail Hike toward an amazing lookout over Rock Lake and the Algonquin Park woods. This trail takes about 3 hours but is paced for beginners. You don't need to have any hiking experience. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife as you follow the trails — you may just see moose, black bears, beavers, wild turkeys, and turtles. Pass by sparkling lakes and stop at lookouts along the way. Opt to take a swim around Popcorn Island, witnessing the natural beauty from yet another vantage point. Hop in a canoe and your guide will lead you around on Canoe Lake. End the day having fully experienced the wonderful Algonquin Provincial Park. Get dropped off at the meeting point in Toronto.

From Toronto: Killarney and French River Guided Day Hike

4. From Toronto: Killarney and French River Guided Day Hike

On this adventure, you will hike “The Crack”- a famous 4-hour, 7km roundtrip trek ascending huge pink, grey and white granite/quartz rock formations. This hike takes its name from the dramatic, deep crevasse that forms walls on the sides of the trail towards the end of the hike. After getting through the crack, you arrive at an unforgettable panoramic lookout where several clear blue lakes can be seen framed by Georgian Bay jack pines. On the way, we will also visit the French River Conservation Area, which features an interesting and accessible suspension bridge over the river. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a beginner's hike. In order to summit in a timely manner, we suggest this trip for folks who are experienced in hiking/hiking uphill and comfortable going through a few tight spaces. Due to the rocky terrain, sturdy shoes (ideally hiking boots) are necessary- especially if the weather calls for rain. Itinerary 6:45am – Departure from Christie Station. Note: if your tour is on a Sunday, the subway does not start running until 8 am, shuttle busses run down Yonge Street and Bloor Street, increasing your travel time slightly. 11:00am – Arrival and registration at the park 11:15am – Begin the hike! Followed by time to relax with a beautiful view of the Georgian Bay. This is a good place to have your lunch. 4:30pm – Visit the French River 6:00pm – Dinner together at a local restaurant (not included) 8:45pm – Expected arrival time to Toronto, Christie Subway Station

What people are saying about Ontario

We went to Bruce Peninsula for the day with Lenka. Such a great trip - 100% recommend. We had an amazing time kayaking, hiking and swimming, and Lenka was a super kind and knowledgable guide around Tobermory and The Grotto. Wish we could've stayed longer. We originally had another trip booked to BP with a different company, that didn't work out, but that turned out great as this tripincludes a lot more.

What a day trip! Everything was perfectly organised, it was such a cool group to explore the national park with. Special thanks to Joe who was definitely the best tour guide to show us around! We highly recommend this trip if you want to see Bruce Peninsula National Park! Lisa & Annika

It was fantastic! Be prepared for a very long day. 8 - 9 hours in bus. I suggest that the tour doesn't provide sandwich for lunch and allows own purchase in Tobermory instead as it's the only meal of the day. Driver and guide very helpful and friendly, thank you! Would recommend highly!

It was such a beautiful place to visit. Kayaking was exciting, so was the hiking through Bruce. Grottos is a must see place.. Lenka was such a wonderful guide. It was a pleasure seeing Tobermory with her. Highly recommended!

Weather was not good, but our guide try his best. Thank you.
