Start with the breath-taking view at the Prophet Elias Monastery and visit the picturesque monastery. Next, discover Pyrgos village, one of the most picturesque villages on the island. Continue to Akrotiri Excavations, one of the most significant archaelogical sites in the area. Akrotiri is a vast structure, once inhabited by 200 families and preserved under the volcano’s lava. Then, you will have some free time (approx 40 minutes) at the Red Beach to simply enjoy the colorful formations of the mountains and/or visit Akrotiri Bay for coffee or lunch with Greek traditional mezedes and ouzo (not included in the price). Fira town comes next, the capital of the island where strolling around will give you the opportunity to take magnificent pictures of the Caldera. Shop or enjoy traditional Santorinian cuisine. The last stop is Oia village for the world’s most famous sunset.
Was able to see the whole island and the guide was awesome. So personable. You could tell she cared about her clients.
Sip your way around Santorini on this private wine tour by visiting 3 traditional wineries spread out across the picturesque island. Learn about the Assyrtiko local grape and chat with your private guide about the history of wine production on the island. Hear about Santorini's viticulture of the volcanic soils, and sample up to 12 different varieties of award-winning volcanic wines. Enjoy a private cellar tour at each of the wineries, and savor local snacks with wine as you admire the charming towns and rolling hills of Santorini.
Excellent guide and driver, Apostolos. Visited 3 vineyards in 5 hours. Each served a generous plate of appetizers. The first winery, Hatzidskis, was the best. Stella gave an excellent tour and description of the wines - we tasted 6! Liked most of the wines and bought 3 bottles. From here, it gradually downhill. The next winery was Venetsanas and had a unique and interesting history. The tour was the best. The wine tasting was hurried. We liked the Vin Santo wine the best. The setting was beautiful, overlooking the port. The last and worst was visit was to Anhydrous. Tour very short and not particularly interesting nor did the young woman seem interested in what she was doing. We had three different servers and the information about the wine was limited as they too many tables to serve. No one ever explained how many tastings we would have and as they kept using the same glass, we weren’t sure when we were finished so we just left. Would not recommend this one at all.
After hotel pick-up, head to the Prophet Ilias monastery on the island's highest point to admire a striking view over the entire island. At the traditional village of Megalochori, get involved with the local culture. This settlement is made of hundreds of small white painted houses, tiny alleys, tower bells, and beautiful blue-domed churches. Head south and relax at Perivolos Black Beach. Swim in crystal clear waters and optionally enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant. Visit the Red Beach, and take amazing pictures of the volcanic landscape and steep cliffs. At the very southwest point of the island, visit the lighthouse for unique sunset viewpoints. Built by a French company in 1882, it is considered one of the most beautiful of the Cycladic Islands. Stop at Oia village, one of the most photographed places in Greece, for spectacular views and blue-domed churches.
If you are limited on time, this is the perfect tour for you. You get to see every key spot in the island. Great opportunity to get photos.
After getting off the ship, reach the top of Fira by cable car to meet your escort and begin your private shore excursion tour. The escort will have a suggested itinerary for you, however you may change the schedule as you wish. For your first stop, the guide will suggest a trip to Prophet Elias Mountain, the highest point in Santorini. There, you will have a panoramic view of the island as well as the Prophet Elias Monastery. Next, head to the Akrotiri Excavations, the so-called Prehistoric Pompei or Lost Atlantis, an important Minoan Bronze Age settlement of the Aegean which was destroyed by a huge eruption during 17th century BC. The settlement was buried under the volcanic ash, which has preserved the whole city in perfect conditions. Next you can have a short photo stop at the famous volcanic Red Beach, well known for its unique sand color and soaring red lav...
This was a fantastic way to see Santorini! Our guide, Magdaleni, was so enthusiastic and made it a real joy. Highly recommend this as it was a small group of four and we had an amazing day!!
Oia is the most famous of all the villages of Santorini. It is known throughout the world for its quiet life and fantastic sunsets, and is certainly the most beautiful and picturesque village of Santorini. The village is also situated on top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano . Oia is situated on the north of the island, 11 kilometers away from Fira. It is a traditional village with charming houses in narrow streets, blue domed churches, and sun-bathed verandas. Its streets have plenty of tourist shops, taverns, cafes, and other shops. Oia is much more quiet that Fira, with its busiest area being the main pedestrian strip that runs along its length. This is the place where you will have the time to explore with your experienced guide. You will have the time to enjoy a drink from a local coffee shop, as you meet with locals and feel the famous Greek ho...
