  • Santorini Sunset Fishing Trip with Dinner and Drinks

    5. Santorini Sunset Fishing Trip with Dinner and Drinks

Take part in an amazing fishing trip off the coast of Santorini at sunset. Set sail from Vlychada harbor, and then watch or join in as the crew pulls in the shrimp nets they laid out the night before. Cruise past beautiful Red Beach, White Beach and Black Beach, and get stunning views of the volcanic landscapes, such as Indian Rock. Drop anchor at one of these spectacular settings to cool down with a refreshing swim in the Aegean Sea. Snorkel with the marine life, or top up your tan at the end of the day. Listen to traditional music, and get some more time to fish using rods, lines and bait provided by the crew. Help clean and cook the fish if you wish, and then enjoy a delicious dinner and unlimited local drinks. Sail back across the open sea and watch a magical sunset out on the water.

This was a fun opportunity for us to try our hand at fishing with a local family fishing business. Captain Anthi and the team did a wonderful job of explaining the different fish we would likely encounter and teaching us different ways for us to catch them based on the type - everyone on the boat eventually caught something. The meal that was prepared was great and we had an opportunity to do a bit of snorkeling in the middle of fishing. Captain Anthi is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does and did a great job engaging folks across multiple languages and nationalities.

  • Day Trip to Santorini by Bus and Boat from Chania

    6. Day Trip to Santorini by Bus and Boat from Chania

Enjoy an island tour by air-conditioned bus and hear informative commentary about the history of one of Greece's most romantic islands. Travel to the village of Oia at the northernmost tip of the island. The village offers magnificent views of the blue and white houses scattered on the hillside. Continue to Fira, where you'll have free time to explore the island's capital. Browse the shops or enjoy a drink at a bar with stunning views of the volcano. Swim from a black sand beach at Perissa or Perivolos. Depart for Crete at 05:45 PM, where the 13-hour trip ends in the port of Rethymno.

It was a little confusing in the beginning. We were picked up on the bus and just dropped at the port with zero explanation on what to do and where to go. We were all herded to a massive line and had to figure out what to do next. Once we were on board, about half way into the boat ride they announced what the options were when you arrived in Santorini. It’s a rushed day to see Santorini and you don’t have a lot of time but it works if you just want a quick trip to experience the island.

Excellent guide and driver, Apostolos. Visited 3 vineyards in 5 hours. Each served a generous plate of appetizers. The first winery, Hatzidskis, was the best. Stella gave an excellent tour and description of the wines - we tasted 6! Liked most of the wines and bought 3 bottles. From here, it gradually downhill. The next winery was Venetsanas and had a unique and interesting history. The tour was the best. The wine tasting was hurried. We liked the Vin Santo wine the best. The setting was beautiful, overlooking the port. The last and worst was visit was to Anhydrous. Tour very short and not particularly interesting nor did the young woman seem interested in what she was doing. We had three different servers and the information about the wine was limited as they too many tables to serve. No one ever explained how many tastings we would have and as they kept using the same glass, we weren’t sure when we were finished so we just left. Would not recommend this one at all.

Absolutely incredible experience. You can’t beat the view of Santorini from the air. The process was extremely easy with our driver picking us up and driving us to the helicopter with no issues. The pilot was Roman who was extremely nice, helpful and professional. Took us on a beautiful flight and was extremely informative about the history and facts regarding the island. The views he was able to show us in the helicopter were incredible. I would recommend this activity to anyone traveling to Santorini.

A really nice trip to a picture book island. Yes, it was exhausting and yes, the trip was long, but I knew what I was getting myself into and it was more than worth it for me. Beautiful views, great weather and an excellent tour guide rounded off the day.
