9. Derby: Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff Tour
More than a home, Graycliff is one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most stunning examples of organic architecture. At one with its surroundings, Graycliff blurs the distinction between man’s creation and nature’s generosity—built using sand, rock, and wood harvested from the grounds and coastline, then flooded with natural light. Embracing the serenity of the gardens and the sweeping Lake Erie vista, Wright redefined modern architecture not through opulence and grandeur, but by exhibiting a mastery of subtlety and restraint. Join us for a one-hour Standard tour or two-Hour Extended tour and Examine the history of Graycliff, from Wright's design, and the Martin's time on the property, while discussing questions your group may have about Wright, the Martin's, or the property history!
