Ocean Odyssey is Knysna’s sole, permitted close encounter whale and dolphin watching operator and we are passionate about what we do – Whale Watching, Eco Marine Tours and Heads Adventures. Navigating our vessels across the Knysna estuary, leading you to the picturesque opening of the Knysna Heads, is just the beginning of the captivating marine experience. Once through the Knysna Heads and into the extensive Indian Ocean, you enter a whole new dimension where nature is in charge and we observe and obey. Encounter the diversity of marine life in their natural habitat, whilst taking in the breath taking geological features. Dolphins, seals, penguin’s, birdlife and Bryde’s whales inhabit our coastline all year round, spoiling us with incredible sightings until the arrival of the majestic giants of the sea… Whales! Once a year, during our winter months, we are elated with the arrival of the Humpback and Southern Right whales as they migrate along the South African coastline towards the warmer waters of our east coast to mate and breed. Observing these enormous mammals performing incredible acrobatics before your eyes, is an experience you will never forget. Let nature entertain you!
